4. What is your political orientation?
Supporter of great leader ZAB and his social policies, Pakistan never ever had produced such personality who not only promised his agenda of social schemes but had guts to implement them..
The question was about 'political orientation'. It was not about your favorite political personality.
On the second note, you did mention social policies. Did you mean socialist policies? Do you think nationalization was a good thing to do?
.....*17. Do you think that some key ministries should be managed only by technocrats, or it must be an elected representative of people to handle any department?
*
No. It should be managed by representatives of the areas whether technocrat or not, it does not matter. Being a technocrat is no guarantee that he or she will run the department efficiently......
Given a choice, I would rather have an qualified doctor operate on me than a popular quack. There's no guarantee I'd survive the operation either way, but then there's less chance that the qualified guy would sell my kidneys or put in a rental heart.
Is this really 1st time PPP is completing its term??? have Sachay forgotten that PPP completed their term back in 70s???
it is 2nd time PPP is completing its term, nothing different from the 1st time, because 1st time when they were in power they nationalized everything to favor Jiyalas and broke the back-bone of the economy of the country, this time around, there is nothing to nationalize, so they bankrupted almost every large organization and for the small one they simply used Power cuts... hence Sanitary Industry which used to generate forex by exporting and have employed over 60,000 families, have been dead and now we proudly import the sanitary equipments from India and China, and how we manage to do that, simply cutting the gas and power to the industry...
So i don't see much of the difference between Zardari and Zulfiqar at least when it comes to economy, both have done the same..
What started in 1980's? Pakistan has never witnessed this kind of load shedding before. Complete failure and mismanagement, during the 1990's our power generation used to be 65 % hydel and 35 % thermal, it has now gone to 65 % thermal and 35 % hydel (thanks to the IPP's). It is not possible for the government to pay for the oil, hence the load shedding. The installed capacity is there but the government cannot use it due to circular debt. As far as gas is concerned, that is being diverted to CNG stations and captive power plants at the expense of power generation. There are very powerful mafias at play here.
In spite of the deficit in power generation, thousands of villages and towns have been added to the power grid during the past 4 years (for political mileage) and that has definitely not helped the situation.
Isn't all the past governments are responsible for current situation of loadshedding? Whatever the reasons, no government gave a damn for increasing demand of electricity. Musharraf paid no attention on the issue. I remember Mr Zubair Motiwala, Chairman Chamber of Commerce Karachi that they brought this issue before Musharraf but he took it as a joke. 10 years of leaving an issue unattended resulted this severe situation. PPP has its role in this fiasco, but it can't be held responsible just because its in government.

The azaab started from IPPs, Musharraf did start some hydel projects but they take some time to complete. I don't know their status now, as far as the current regime is concerned they are almost at the fag end of their and they expect the masses to elect them again due to their policies. But what's the current situation now,the short fall which was 3500 MW four and a half years ago is ranging between 4500 to 6500 MW, and what's the solution of the government to overcome that? Replacing IPPs (which we can't afford) with RPPs?
Sachaydino how long have you been out of the country? When you last visited Pakistan? I want to know this to ascertain whether your knowlege about ground realities in Pakistan is firsthand and up to date.
Secondly, you seem to have been abroad for a long period of time. Why did not you opt for Canadian or American nationality?

Adding to this, Since PPP is in govt and you believe that there performance is out-standing, when are you coming back to Pakistan for good?

No it did not complete the first time in the seventies. Mardood took over illegally in the dark of night, and he ruled Pakistan for 11 years converted country in to a Jehadi country. Pakistan is still suffering his jehadi policies.
Nationalization policy was not bad, PPP got votes on socialist agenda of Bhutto and fulfilled his promise. Any way Zia unwound those policies and Pakistan did not achieve the desired results. Pakistanis were much happy than mardood's government. This is first hand experience.

I have already said that I have been out from country for a very long time. I have kept only one nationality. Last time visited Karachi in 2006-2007.
How do you see the practice of exploiting Sindhi people (whose roots are in tasawwuf) using Mazaraat for political mileage?
It has always been the other politicians and dictators who had exploited the poor Sindhi masses. Unfortunately no other politician or dictator had done any thing for Sindhi People what PPP had done, even a small relief for them makes the difference. Musharaf had said Sindhis are incompetent. What IK's PTI policy for Sindh rural? Sindhis have no other choice. Please tell me if you have some one in your mind other than PPP?
