I would be very happy to sign that option if she wanted, but when we got married, we did not know of that option, not that she would've asked for it even if we knew.

Re: Unmarried guys

I have finally got a reasonable answer to this question. And here it is below ... I can't believe I didn't think of this before ... Since people have said rightly that nikkah is a contract then a condition from one side can be met by other conditions.

So here it is:

"The husband agrees to bestow the power of talaq without the need for khula proceedings to the wife which will take effect no earlier than 6 months of marriage time.

If the husband shows any violent or threatening behaviour to the wife that she can demonstrate to independent witnesses then such a scenario shall earn the wife the power of talaq without the need for khula proceedings from 6 months of marriage even if such an incident occurs before 6 months, this does not affect her right to khula.

If the husband becomes unable to fulfill his duties as a husband due to a change of circumstance, such as an accident, new illness or disorder or financial instability then the wife earns the power of talaq without the need for khula proceedings no earlier than 18 months of marriage, even if such a change occurs before 18 months.

The wife shall earn the power of talaq without the need of khula proceedings when and if she bears a child under this nikkah at any time to take effect only after 18 months of marriage, even if the child is born earlier.

The wife gains the power of talaq without the need of khula proceedings without condition if the marriage is childless for 5 years.

At no time during the marriage can this right be taken away from the wife unless she waivers that right before witnesses and the nikkah is revised by mutual consent."

Does that sound more reasonable?
