unkoolness of urdu...

I was watching Rock in a helicopter saving ex wife and ex daughter move.
Every two minutes. there was kick A$% sentence.
as
“you got to get out there”
“lets get the hell outta here”
“we are coming to get you”

See how manly kick butt phrases are those.

It got me thinking there are no such phrases in urdu… can you think of any??
All we have in urdu tv… is some killing bansoori(flute) tunes.. and killing not in a good way… killing with weight of sadness.
Not any weight.. but undue weight.
As hero came heroin did not heat up food for him… killer bansoori like really ??

Where are our awesome phrases ??

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

Ex daughter … seriously?
Unkoolness of monk..

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

Haha.. Good catch. May be the rock believed it was his daughter and it turned out to be someone else’s in the end?

Tadaaa.. mystery solved.

Damn, we all should compile a story and sell it to may be, Steven Spielberg?

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

Government ka tou patta nhe but Monk bikk gya ha mulak-dushman forces ky hatho. Pichlay kuch dino sy mulk dushman threads laga raha ha.. ab Urdu sy problem ho gai ha shanny ko..

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

@Monk Now we know why failed in academics literature..

Apples & Oranges.

Urdu is originally much sophisticated language as compared to others. Its like Cricket, the game of “Lords”.

Now you are trying to find the parallel “coolness” after getting impressed with either Rock or his ex-wife or his ex-daughter, but you may or may not find the same “lucha” or “lafanga-pan”. (There we go with concrete urdu).

Not so cool mate.

But either way, you can parallelize the quoted phrases with things like, “Dafa ho jao yahan se” or as in slang urdu, “shakal gum karo”. I know “ass” v/s “shakal”, not so good analogy but probably our shakal is better than their ass.

While if “we are coming to get you” is used in a threatening way, you can always say “Teri to aisi ki tesi”..

I do recall one other phrase but probably that’ll end up marked as a cuss word :bummer:

What else you wana know. Poocho Poocho, poocho ge nai to aapki urdu kese achi hogi?

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

Urdu tou urdu, hamari tou panjabi bhi barri cool hai

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

In Urdu: Ain?

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

No. What is kickass or manly about these simple sentences? And why cant you say them in urdu?

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

^ That was precisely my point.

Whats so kickass? Unless monk fell for the rock’s kick and his ex-wife’s ass :smokin:

Re: unkoolness of urdu…

Some of these epic lines have become part of the culture. They believe in brevity here, whereas Bollywood is about verbosity.
