I have recently finished my school and then applied to University of Maryland, Baltomore, U.S.A.
I will be going there in August to start my studies.
I wanna know all about that city. Are there some pakistani families living there? Hows the city itself?

Tons of Pakistanis in Baltimore. Restaurants, shops and fun things to do. You'll have a great time.

There are loads of pakistani's there ...so don't worry you will never be alone.City it self...well there is good and bad..but you wil be okay.

Hey prince, i m at UMB and ur gonna meet alot of desis there. My advice stay away from them.

PA, I'm hoping you dont base ur decisions on what's posted on here. There are tons of paki families in Baltimore. Northeast USA is the best place to come to (other than the South-West, i.e. CA) in the US to get proper support. I'm sure you are going to be ok. Stay away from MM and others in that Baltimore area and u'll be fine ;)

I spent a summer in Baltimore for research at JHU... there are good and bad parts to the town itself... the scene changes quite drastically between the nice neighborhoods and the ghetto areas.

We had to adhere to a very strict security protocol and weren't allowed to go to certain areas and were warned about others.

That's about all I have to say about Baltimore. Overall, I suppose it was alright.

If u really wana meet desis prince, go to mosques. There is one on rollingroad near crossby. Anyway i wasnt trying to scare u, but its better if u stay away from desis here. They are a bit weird, the desi food here sucks. Well i dont know where will u be located, but there are few desis grocery shops. One of is called halal meat, its located on route 40 in catonsville. Then there is another one called Al-madina in laurel and u will find a desi shoping center at the back of it. It has shaheen restaraunt, a couple of jewlary shops, clothes and many more. Then there are other restaraunts like akbar, o’s palace (this one sucks big time) egyptian (reistertown). Anyway if u need any more help, let me know.

I will be staying at my uncles’s house in Baltimore. I will be studying at UMBC.

Prince coz most of um are either snobs, too corrupted or too religious. U will find hardly anyone to be normal. They will try to take advantage of u.
Well the first difference is in the location, one of um is in balto county and the other one is in baltimore city. They offer different degrees as in different majors. Wht's ur major?

ahmadjee, Univserity of baltimore is different than uni of MD, balto. UMB is university of Maryland campus which is located in Baltimore city. :)

Well! I guess i'm in Baltimore county. I'll be attending " Intensive English Program " for a full semester and then i'll choose to do some kinda computer course or so. I'll get some advice from my uncle too.
I had options between choosing to study in Dubai or Baltimore but i chose Baltimore.:)

too many desis kanoun ko haath lagaying Commons is nice but after a while it gets boring too…i loved the library though..fav spot in that school. Go up on a 7th floor and sleep :cb:
