UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

IN UK, did anyone pay for their fees, i know you can get a grant, which you dont need to pay back, and a loan which you do, but is there anyway that a degree doesnt need to be paid for unless you earn a certian amount, or am i getting it all wrong…??

Re: UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

Well, most of the students apply for STUDENT FINANCE ENGLAND...
you can get maximum loan without any interest...once you find a job , they 'll take it automatically from your pay,, if you 'll stay jobless thn you are n't allowed to pay any loan back... Also, you can get maintenance grant too , it all depends at your income or if you are living with your parents , it depends at your parent's income...N if you are talking about for a degree where u dunt want to pay thn go for NHS courses, you dun need to pay any fees...actually , you have to sell yourself to NHS as their C & T wants you for entire of your life...Rest do consult student finance england , thy will help you!

Re: UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

in general case uni's do offer £2000 to £3000 scholarship for international students, m on european scholarship, but dats mainly bcoz of my proff and bcoz of some good grades i got in my masters, well there are other organization which offers u scholarship but u cant really rely on them becoz the preference goes to home grown students, even if they score less then u.

Re: UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

goddddddddddddddd not international student, home students....

Re: UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

You were a student recently, weren't you Nadz? I remember you saying you did a Masters....

Your best bet is to speak the Student Advice centre on the university campus, they'll give you the appropriate info.

Re: UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

Nadz, if you took out a loan then I think you're only required to start paying it back once you're earning £15,000 or higher.
I know some degrees like Nursing and Midwifery are funded by the NHS so you don't have to pay tuition fees at all but with most degrees The Student Loans Company pays your fees and then you pay them back once you're earning £15,000 and over.

Re: UNIVERSITY fees, did you pay?

the rules are same for home students with British nationality and students with indefinite leave(if they have stayed in UK for 3 years after getting the indefinit leave).
