Idea from another thread.
I’ve always loved the concept of school uniforms. Helps to add discipline, looks great, eliminates unnecessary competition, saves on costs…
SO what do you think? Do you think schools abroad should have uniforms? Yes or No?

I doubt anyone could get a six former to wear any kind of uniform. What next, uniforms at uni? I think 16 is an appropriate age to stop wearing uniform.
I have no idea why, but I'm so suprised they don't wear uniform in schools all over the world already. It's so normal here. It used to be just secondary schools but changed (have no idea when but it was after I had finished with primary school 1993) when all primary school aged children were expected to wear uniforms too. I think nursery kids looks LUSH in school uniform...so smallie and cutesy.
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
yes - good for the kids and good for the parent's budget
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
I agree uniforms should be mandated but don't you think this usually applies to girls....I don't see guys engaging in a fierce competition regarding their branded clothing or have times changed?
Re: Uniforms: yes or no

Re: Uniforms: yes or no
I've heard of boys fight over sneakers/joggers...
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
Unfortunately, we dont have uniforms here in this country.
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
A HUGE yes. Sadly...its never gonna happen in the country i live in. Sighz. My son will probably wear his pants around his ankles and my daughter will skip along in a tube top and mini skirt in grade 1 :/
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
We have always had uniforms here in the UK schools from age 5 to 16. It is a blessing really. The amount of dirty clothes my kids are going through in these summer holidays makes me realise this. My six year old daughter is fussing everyday right now about what to wear in the mornings. No such problems during school days! During school days, they come home and change at around 4 pm so less clothes to wash too!
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
Definitely YES!

LOL! Why don't I believe you?
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
yep!
I had one in high school, and it was great!
even in our Islamic Weekend School, we have a uniform as well.
The only downside is that they were expensive. I remember the price for a pair of pants was around 60 bucks, for example.
And all the clothing had to bought from this certain uniform Store.
We weren't allowed to buy any item of clothign from another store (eg. like a plain white shirt from Sears. All our clothign had to have the school logo/crest on it.)
It would be pricey if there were more than one kid that went to the school.
But then it does save money for parents to buy other kinds of clothes (jeans, etc). Especially for us girls..my sister and I hardly bought western clothes during high school, and instead ammi bought us a lot of desi clothes. :)
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
I had to wear a uniform during sixth form as well, never realised that other people didn't until I went to university. Wearing a uniform certainly makes life easier. I still wear a uniform to some extent now for work......black suits :p
