Re: Uniforms: yes or no
YES Thats why I love my son’s school
And my daughter gosh its hard she wear all fashiony stuff because of no uniform.
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
definitely yes!! my boys all go to a public charter school, and they are in uniform..makes life so much easier...khaki pants or shorts, dark green or dark blue polo shirt with the school logo/emblem...brown belt, white socks, brown shoes...that's it...love it!
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
Mine too.. At the first school I went to apart from our shirts it was all poo brown ![]()
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
Uniforms at school curbs a kids individuality. It also takes away most fundamental right of freedom of expression. If we want to teach kids to respect other people rights then their rights should be respected too.
There should be a dress code but no uniform. It also puts extra burden on parents to maintain two sets of clothing for kids one for home and other for school.
Many more arguments can be made against school uniforms.

uniforms..
Re: Uniforms: yes or no
Mirch.....why you make a valid point about stifling creativity by imposing a uniform, I believe that there are many other avenues for them to exercise this freedom.
I also believe that encouraging a sense of equal footing with one's peers is much more important in the development of a child's personality as compared to allowing room for creativity.
Furthermore.....if I use Catholic schools as a benchmark then there are enough children getting 'creative' with their skirt lengths and blouse necklines even with the uniform!

I presented three argument and I could make many but that will require an essay , then I though someone might have written one so I found one and posted the link. It has some very valid arguments.
