Is this character trait of being UNGRATEFUL the real cause of messed up relationships?
After the terrible terrible plane crash here in Islamabad resulting in a loss of hundreds of precious lives, I was thinking why do we complain all the time about how unsatisfactory our circumstances are, when life itself is so unpredictable!
I don’t know but even in Life1 people have been posting threads complaining about how they don’t get Eid joras or how their bhabi’s are being cruel to them. Shouldn’t we be grateful for having a family, having a good lifestyle and especially for just being alive?
Is lack of patience and ingratitude one of the major factors contributing to the increased number of split-ups and rifts in various relationships or the general difficult situations in life people come across?

Lack of compromises, expecting everything yet giving nothing, back-stabbing, moaning and whinging constantly is the reason for the ingratitude today!
What a sad day today......life is surely so unpredictable and short....we should thank Allah taa'lah for all the blessings that we have whether its in the form of loving parents...siblings....caring husband...for everything that we have....and we should pray to Him that he keeps us away from all such incidents and azmayshain...Ameen!may Allah grant jannah to all who lost their lives in this tragic incident and provide sabar and strength to their relatives and families...Ameen!

We have forgotten to thank Allah n look down to people who are less blessed than us....we should stop complaining and try to keep our attitude positive...with a little patience and compromises...we can make out lives much better.....may Allah guide us to the right path!
I mean I have seen a friend of mine almost screw up her marriage on a fight with her hubby on not taking her to some exotic destination for the honeymoon!
And on the plane today was a 7 day newly married couple headed to the northern areas for their honeymoon..they never got to have! This is life. :( And what do we complain and fret about!
I believe all people from rich to poor, beautiful to ugly, succesful to bikar all have GGS(Grass is Greener Syndrome). Everybody in any situation always wants something more or something different. It's only human nature. But you have made an excellent point, and the fact of the matter is most people don't count their blessings and don't appreciate what they have. We should all make a point to thank the creator for everything we have.
This thread should be 'sticky' so everyone can see this and realize that how much ungrateful we get towards our life and Allah.
I was just thinking and getting sad that everything in my life is going against what I expect,I've so many complaints about my current life situations and I was writing a blog to share my feelings, I thought to stop writing for sometime and have a look at 'what's going on in the forum' When I saw this thread I got extremely embarrassed that what I was writing and sharing even at this sorrowful day. I am having my loved ones by the grace of Allah, I am blessed in every way of my life then I shouldn't find excuses.

hugs for you! We all go through this phase time and again. We are humans. It's Allah's vast rehmat that He forgives us every time. :)
and if you want to share anything you sure can. Allah kabhi kisi ko us k hosle se zyada nai azmata. Period.
:)
so a mental note to us next time we complain about:
1. How our friends/siblings/parents so mean to us at times..imagine them NOT being there, God forbid!
2. Why can't we get designer shoes, bags, and anything material because we don't have money, think of the child who begs on the street barefoot
@Cupcake you are always welcome :)
i myself had been going through a lousy time in the past 2 3 months and I couldn't refrain from complaining.
But now I feel really bad for being so ungrateful!

Sometimes we humans behave as if we are going to live forever and do injustice to others just to get revenge , power & control in relationships & in professional life too. Like there is a saying Samaan so baras ka paal ki khabar nahi , we make so many plans but we don't know what is there in our fate and what Allah has decided for us. We forget that the supreme and ultimate decision making authority is Allah.
