Recently, I received an infraction for posting in this thread [thread has been removed from GS for review]. As you can see, in this the thread starter asks for more pictures of the outfit, and another poster (candy_apple) asks if anyone knows where she can get a good copy made. In response, I posted a link to GS, home based designer pakifairy’s copy of the outfit in question. The post which I received an infraction for looked something like this:
“Check out pakifairy’s copy [insert link here]”
Anyone who has taken the time out to follow my posts on this forum has to be aware that my actions above were not unusual, I will take time out to help anyone I can on this forum. I will provide answers, support and help in any situation where I can do so. My post was posted here several days ago, and was seen, but not removed, by at least two moderators, **Riya **and Sara516, as you can see they have posted on this thread as well. However, it has since been removed. And I received an infraction for advertising.
Let me get something straight here. I am not pakifairy. I am not an agent for pakifairy. I am not a multinick (a quick IP check can prove that).* I am independent poster who is not afraid to freely post her thoughts, insights and opinons. Like so many other posters here.* And I OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO INTENTIONS TO ADVERTISE FOR ANYONE.
Since when is it considered advertising to answer someone’s SOLICITED question? I received an infraction because someone on this thread was looking for an outfit and I knew who made such an outfit. I see this on this forums every single day, and I do it myself. I post up an outfit and say, “Hey anyone know who made this?” And when someone replies and says “Umar Sayeed, Rouge, Karma, Bunto, etc. etc” are they not doing EXACTLY what I did? Simply answering a question? Do they receive infractions? Is it now considered advertising to simply mention a designer’s name on this forum? Or is it because pakifairy is not a huge, famous celebrity designer so we are not allowed to mention her? Since we do GS moderators play favorites?
Take a look at what is happening in this thread alone. Remember, I received an infraction for linking a designer to an outfit, that was considered advertising. So why are these posts still here?
These two posters did exactly what I did. They answered the poster’s questions with specific examples and information. Like me, they referred to the outfit and provided the name to a designer where that outfit could be purchased. For God’s sake **kiran_bride2be **even named a price. But that was not considered advertising. (Sorry to call you out Kiran, dear)
This makes me ask myself, are some people being unfairly targeted on this forum? I was not the only person who received an infraction for mentioning pakifairy’s name. Check this

Furthermore, why am I receiving an infraction for what is clearly a vague violation of website advertising that is over three days old, when I reported this post TWICE and even mentioned the violation within the thread
*Why are the mods wasting their time giving infractions to *posters like myself who invest their time, energy and knowledge in bettering this forum? Why pick on ME when I am an asset, and have not really done anything wrong BUT IGNORE OBVIOUS SPAM EVEN WHEN IT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO YOU? Why are some of you (not most) abusing your power?

If you want to contact someone regarding the sale of an outfit or its price or having it customized for you, or how much their photography package is or whatever, please PM them, email them or call them, or, better yet, carry on that discussion in Bazaar Talk, where it belongs.”
Since mentioning a designer’s name is considered advertising will we all be penalized for mentioning a designer or company? And will all these posts be removed? Will you start to consider every response to the question, “who made that outfit” advertising? If so let me give you a head start:
And those are just from the last couple of pages of the BRIDAL PICS thread. I’m sure the mods will have their hands full going through all the other “violations”.
Furthermore, you must remove the threads on the front page about Karma bridals and Hajra Hayat. As a matter of fact, the Hajra Hayat thread is all about reviews and as you have clearly mentioned, those are for Bazaar Talk.
There are countless other instances when such advertising has occured on the forum, and has gone by unchecked. And in my opinion, they SHOULD NOT BE CENSORED. None of these people are violating forum rules and none are advertising. They are contributing, they are sharing their opinions, thoughts and experiences. And that is what GupShup is all about!
I have posted my feelings on this thread and will post it in the Feeback Forum and will message it to Channel Managers. In my opinion, someone’s power is going unchecked. Or perhaps there are personal matters/quarrels that need to be settled. Really, I have no idea whats going on, but whatever the reason may be, anger should not be taken out on ME or other unsuspecting posters. Keep it professional people, that’s why you were chosen for your job as a moderator.
