India was one country before as we know and the british Raj was very clever they made us fight each other and become divided.
When you divided by colonial power it is for one reason only to weaken you so you can be controlled.
In current climate it not possible too much suspicion and lack of trust on both parties.
In future who knows anything possible germany used to be east and west germany now they one country and economic powerhouse.
