I wholeheartedly agree!
rukhsar is the most pathetic of them all. She wasn’t happy when she was unmarried. she’s not happy now that she’s married and won’t let her brother be happy either, let alone any other woman. What a pitiful soul.
Btw, is it just me or does Adnan’s mom have a strange voice?! As of she’s trying too hard to screech/scream, but won’t at the same time.
I think Adnan is the most likable character out of everyone. I don’t care for Kiran anymore. The more I watched the drama the less I cared. I feel like after her decision she went through a regretful phase.
I think people still ahvent come to terms with the fact that in this drama, for once, the characters arent etched in black and white. theyre in a grey space. and theyre dynamic.
and well, we know how chalak out desi women can be. so why not portray it. those sharpies.
Bisoux, you need to watch the drama, Akbari Asghari if you haven't already. It stars Rukhsar's mother among others and she did a brilliant job playing the "maadran" woman from Sialkot.
haali desi women chalaak nahi hoti, but office goers or more like educated and city type editions come in a package of “meesni, chalaak and makaar” too
Redvelet. Agree with all your comments. But what else can you expect from umera Ahmed. The more she writes, the worse her characters and stories get. In her mind 80% of women are either zaalim or mazloom. With the exception of her dramas with Mehreen jabbar , she has failed miserably at creating convincing rich/liberal characters who in her mind are shallow, unreligious, selfish, cruel, NGO owners (the women) or rawdy maaadern kids who party late! Wear jeans, speak English, and are every bit selfish as their parents. She also loves to blame the said NGO mothers for their kids bad upbringing and usually creates a confrontational scene between them where the reformed kid rips them apart for their bad parenting skills.. You get the point. Umera Ahmed needs to stop writing
^Oh I see flaws in Kankar, but I still like Umera Ahmed. Her dramas/stories and quotations have provided me with food for thought. Some of the inner conflicts that her characters go through are ones I identified with myself and inspired me to shift my perspective in terms of faith and worldly matters. I like the woman.
I really like Umera Ahmed's plays. This one brings a very important point. Will Kiran be even more miserable with Adnan. His sister is descipable and miserable woman. His mom is a weak woman. Next weeks episode will bring out Adnans rage. Will Kiran wind up alone and miserable? was she better off tolerating Sikanders rages and should stayed away from from when he flew into a rage as countless women do?
rukhsar deserves an abusive husband! god what an annoying woman arghhhhh.
Anyways, I wonder what will happen with Kiran. Is she going to end up divorcing Adnan and remarrying sikander? Guess it goes to show that miseries don't end after a divorce and you can end up with a whole set of different problems.
Yeah you just wanna gather all the women in the drama....n give each of them a jhaaroo and rolling pin and tell them to rain down on Rukhsar. And her mom too. I find Rukhsar's mom more annoying than Rukhsar's mom....she's feeble-minded. Mrs. Bennet from Pride and Prejudice has more brains and gumption than her.
if she wants respect in life, as she claims, i hope she will do something to earn it. I would like to see her complete her education and focus on her career (which is what she should have done to begin with). If she decides to move onto another guy, straight out of this relationship, then she is stupid as hell and deserves whatever insult and disrespect comes her way.
As i said so before, if this silly girl actually wanted some respect as she so loudly claimed, she should have done something to earn it rather than move on to the next guy. Pehlay ghareeb honay ke taane perte thay, ub talak yaafta hone ke parain gay. and did her parents learn nothing from the last marriage. Sikandar was chasing her and his parents were luke warm, similarly now adnan is chasing her and his family is against it, despite that they agreed to the wedding face palm. Kia pagal jaahil hain?
reminds me of the dialogue she marofied to her ex-MIL when she went back to collect her books. She told her "aap kee bhee izza thee ammi, pur aap ko kerwanee nahi aaee". errrr look who is talking.khud kia teer maar leea!
I don't think she is going to go back to Sikander, but I'm a bit confused about the message in this drama. She left husband no. 1 because he was abusive and did not respect her. Now the 2nd one has a weirdo mother and a chalako sister, is she going to leave him because of them? It does not seem so far that she is going to get any izzat from their side and somehow I did not like Adnans comment about how azeez rukhsar and his mother are to him.
"Kankar" implies a constant friction or annoyances in Sikandar and Kiran's life. Their paths are different, but current life is impacted by their respective spouses... and this kankar will always be...
