UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

At the end of the day, it's "CHOICE" so basically if you want to wear it, you ask, if you don't then you wear the normal gown.

As far as the goreh kicking up a fuss - it doesn't affect them.......and anyway, if they don't want to wear the revealing gown...I am sure that they will be most welcome to don these gowns too!!!!!!

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

Is there something in between? I imagine not everyone covers up completely, but also doesn't like to show their legs/arms. This just looks like the dress surgeons wear, just with the added hood.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

Name a pakistani designer who has done something for hijabee/niqaabi?

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

Wrong. Don't boil it down to a 8 inch piece of cloth.

It's an affront to a majority of Muslims around the world who reject wearing a Burqa. This minority has convinced a health system that this behaviour is typical of muslims. That this is a "muslim" uniform. That "muslim women" will benefit from these. You don't understand the implications associated with defining THIS as "muslim modesty".

A muslim woman entering the hospital will be offered a green garbage bag because a bunch of cardboard dwellers have established that muslim women wear this thing and it makes sense to offer it to all Muslim women. That this is what helps "preserve a patient's modesty." It implies a regular Hijab is immodest.

You can defend their right to "be a muslim" day in and day out but a person wearing a Burqa does not consider your wife a Muslim. They dont even consider a Hijab Islamic. They've not only made Islam uninterpretable by imposing their narrow mindedness onto fellow Muslims, but they've misrepresented all of Islam in front of non-Muslims.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

dunno man, but these tight fitting walay burqay are not being designed by italians ya know.

so to the best of my knowledhe no 'famous' pakistani designer has designed for hijabi/niqabis, but they were designed by someone in pakistan, so some low level designer.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

I agree with you and that is why I had not considered this 'islamic' .. a personal modesty issue fine, but islamic, i dunn think so. its similar to the swimming outfit which has the dumm-challa of 'islamic' designation attached to it.

PS: please try Fraudia brand islamic cigarettes today!!! (nicotene free)

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

That itself is EXTREMELY political. One of the cornerstones of Britain's socialised health service is that noone should pay to benefit from it. It would be outrageous to expect someone to pay for a hospital gown compatible with their religious beliefs. Free treatment means free treatment!

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

my religious beliefs require that everything i wear be decorated with precious metals and diamonds, I am also not allowed to return them or give those to anyone and can only use them for my own personal benefit ...

NHS needs to provide me with garments that are compatible with my personal beliefs.

PS: my beliefs also require that skimpily clad bodacious nurses are taking care of me.

PS2: my beliefs rock!!!!

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

Yeah, so what really is Islamic afterall.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

well, if we require something thats quite extra ordinary* - we need to pay the price.

*extra ordinary for England. I mean come on. I myself wouldn't like wearing small open gowns but on the other hand, these new gowns are going to be expensive. I already pay way too much tax - that is it for me.

Re: UK hospital introduced world’s first burqa-style hospital gowns

This gown costs 12 pounds, while other butt revealing gowns cost something between 8 to 100 dollars
http://www.nextag.com/hospital-gown/search-html

And if cost is an issue, NHS can charge these patients the extra cost of these gowns, most will be happy to pay the price, rather i think almost all will be happy to pay the price.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

And in the meanwhile your tax dollars can be better spent at treating STD's of Gays.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

^
well, by saying "my tax" i was just referring to people.

Re: UK hospital introduced world’s first burqa-style hospital gowns

What? It’s $100 for a dozen. $8 each vs $25 each for the taliban spring collection.

Yes. Charge them.

Wrong. Free treatment does not equal additional services. Public health care provides you with basic health care. Jehovah’s Witnesses dont get new linens, pillows and mattresses because of their religion. They buy their own bedding. Do the same and buy your own ninja outfit. If you’re too poor then cover your head with an islamic paper bag.

Gays work. They pay for your health care. And you pay for theirs. That’s fair.

I’d rather have my tax dollars save contributing members of society vs good for nothing social outcasts. “Hello, I’m a British Muslim. I’m poor and weak because someone hid my welfare check under my work boots.” Try selling that to tax payers.

P.S. This is not about taxation. This is about Muslims in Europe being a bunch of whiners.

Why qoute just half of my post, i also said:

And if cost is an issue, NHS can charge these patients the extra cost of these gowns, most will be happy to pay the price, rather i think almost all will be happy to pay the price.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

i think the concerns of muslims who themselves or their familly members who dont wear this dress (not just in hospital but also in general) have to be addressed. i'd just like to say that most(nearly all) pakistani people dont wear the burka and people needn't have fears over being labled less islamic should they choose not to wear the burka. its a choice, we all have the responsibility of not judging either way.

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

I believe in giving credit where credit is due...This is a good step in the right direction...

Muslims come in all shapes and sizes...One Muslim's actions does not affect the lifestyle of the other Muslim and if it does, then there is definitely something...No one is the keeper of another...

We have Muslims who hold their honour, dignity and respect above everything while we also have Muslims who would prostitute their own women for some gain...

We may have Muslims who believe that a brothel close to their house gives the whole locality a bad name, especially if their mothers, sisters and daughters pass through the same streets visited by the clientèle of the brothel who may look at them lasciviously...While on the other hand we may have brothel owning Muslims who look at their detractors as Muslims who interfere in their lives...

It all comes down to choices and the impact it may have upon society or others...While I am a firm believer in guarding modesty as prescribed in Islam and view a Muslim woman going on a date with a stranger or a beer chugging guy as giving a bad name to Muslims, someone might consider it as giving Muslims a positive image...

For me such a scenario, that would be tantamount to seeing a Buddhist monk having sex or a Hindu roasting a cow...It would a give bad impression of both religions as it contradicts the tenets of these two faiths...And if some of us, who have a basic knowledge of both faiths, were to ask the believers of the respective religions why they went against the basic tenets of their faith and if they were to reply, 'Oh, it's not important, it's a choice'...Would you respect that person? Would you respect the religions that these two professed to follow? You gauge the sincerity of a person's faith and the importance of the religion he follows by how its adherents follow it...

Then there may be those who are firm believers in debauchery and accepting everything that comes their way as 'it's OK'...Homosexuality is OK, drinking is OK, pre marital sex is Ok e.t.c....While someone might consider this aspect of being a Muslim as OK, I would condemn it and consider this giving Islam and Muslims a bad name...

So, it boils down to choices...I consider this a laudable proposition by the Brits and have great respect for my sisters who observe the Hijab or the Niqab...It is their choice to do with their lives as they please and if someone makes their choice of following their religion easier, then kudos to them...

Re: UK hospital introduced world's first burqa-style hospital gowns

I've heard Imam Zaid Shakir saying.........' People who make fun of muslims bcoz of their hijab or beard.........Allah will make fun of those people in the akhira.......Allah will order these people(who mock) to enter Paradise and as soon as they will start to enter Jannah, Allah will close the doors of Jannah for them so they will not be able to enter in Paradise.

Then dwellers of Jannah will laugh at them..........This is so just.

May Allah keep us all on the right path.Ameen
