Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
yes liverpool played well, as of 1st leg, Liverpool has the maximum benefit out of it. They have overdone the Munich at Madrid to claim the best team of 1st-leg.

Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
Tonights results:
Chelsea 2-1 Porto (agg 3-2)
Liverpool 0-1 Barcelona (agg 2-2 Liverpool through on away goals)
Lyon 0-2 Roma (agg 0-2)
Valencia 0-0 Inter (2-2 Valencia through on away goals)
Chelsea were given a seriuos scare by porto but their class shown.
Liverpool should have sealed the match a lot earlier with the chances they had but after the hour mark they sat back and let Barca come who nicked a late goal to scare Liverpool but I am afraid Barca looked seriuosly out of sorts and they have been doing so since a while now, certainly not the all conquering team from last season)
Roma upset Lyon who were really tipped to go all the way this time around. Roma are looking really good in europe this year.
Inter never looked like scoring against Valencia and they paid for their atrocious defending right at the end of first leg.
At the end there was a free for all boxing match between inter and valencia players that went on even in the dressing room.
never seen any brawl of this proportion.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
very surprising to see Barca out already!
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
all english final looks likely!!!!
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
hmmm
3 English clubs progress to quarter finals. With Madrid and Barcelona out, Valencia to represent Spain. Roma scored 2 against Lyon to secure their place.
Made it to Quarter Final:
ManU, Chelsea, Liverpool, Roma, PSV, Valencia, BMunich
Milan 1-0 Celtic
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
i hope man-U and chelsea meet at some point!!! would be a bomber!!
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
Real once again out of CL in knock out stages for fourth year running. It is a shame really. If they lose the crucial match against Barca this weekend, Capello will be thrown out.
Draws will be made today and lets see who meets who. No country protection now so anyone can meet anyone.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
Very interesting QF line up. It can turn out to be an all english final.
AC Milan v Bayern Munich
PSV v Liverpool
Roma v ManU
Chelsea v Valencia
ManU and Chelsea face really tough tests in Roma and Valencia. Specially Chelsea who will have to get a result in Valencia which no other team has done this season.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
I support Roma in Italy so hopefully Francesco and co will produce...anyone see Mancinis goal...sick one...
Valencia would have been a tough team but after that brawl...(if you aint see it youtube it) they gonna have a lot of suspensions...that brawl put the argentina germany fight to shame...so chelsea should go through...
Cant imagine Liverpool losing to PSV...Arsenal only beat good teams so flopped...Bayern and Milan is a tough one...
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
liverpool are doing well so far.....liverpool all the way
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
hmm, yes with some big players already out and with 3 Englkish clubs there is a good possibility of an all-english final. But then there aremany possibilities. There is another possibility i.e. an all-Italian final, and there is still another possibility that is a final with no Italian or English club involved.
Milan to face the toughest challenge after Makaay (finally) scored the quickest CL goal and Nistelroy could not respond. Italian defence is usually not easy to break so Makaay and Munich need to put some extra effort if they want Milan to slip.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
I can’t believe that the Germans aren’t showin’ Bayern in Free-TV. I’m angry ![]()
I don’t want to go to a Sports-Bar. I hate my german fellows…
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
ManU 7 - 1 Roma (Agg 8-3)
Valencia 1 - 2 Chelsea (Agg 2- 3)
ManU absolutely annhiliated Roma. Ronaldo once again absolutely fantastic
Chelsea played wonderfully welll against Valencia and won 2-1 away from home. Shevchenko became the highest ever scorer in CL history. Awesome.

Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
By the way this will be the first time in history that three english teams will be in CL semifinals. Liverpool is in a pole position to finish the job tojmorow and meet Chelsea in the semis while ManU will meet either Bayern or Ac Milan. An all english final on cards!
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
After a long time ManU played their game. Reminds me of the days when Ferguson took charge and turned ManU to one of Europe's best attacking teams. I guess this was perhaps the worst defeat, at this level, for an Italian club.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
wow what a display by Man U.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
Chelsea have become masters at getting the late goal. They're a well-rounded side and can go all the way.
Re: Uefa Champions League 2006-07
Manchester United - AC Milan 3-2
