U.S Visa

Re: U.S Visa

FT:

Whoever is in the US....(for you I believe it is him).....they WILL look at his financial info if he is the only one applying. And they have to make a certain percentage above the US poverty guidelines....currently which is around $25,000....(this goes up and down) HOWEVER.....there is a way around this financial Affidavit of Support form.....this is in the US only .....NOT APPLY to UK..because the UK does not allow Co-sponsors! Here listen:

In the US if the person sponsoring the visa application...(the person in US), if they do not make enough money, then you can ask anyone you would like to Co-sponsor the individual you are trying to bring into the US. This person does not have to be related, and only needs to meet the financial guidelines. Actually, in the US, legally since there is no legal basis for asking for this information until you are apllying for the 2-10 year visa change of status, there is no risk involved for the Co-sponsor. In other words, anyone who agrees to do this does not actaully take on an legally financial burden at thsi point in the visa process. The Affiddavit of SUpport is for the US governement to fish around for information that will be asked for after they arrive in the US to apply for visa change of status. This is to guarentee that the person coming into the US will not become a "public charge"...meaning the will not try to live off the US governement. Many people have Co-sponsors, so it is no disgrace to have one. And, in todays economy it often takes a two person income to support a home in the US, so there is no shame on the part of anyone.
