U.S. troops kill 15 Iraqi protestors, including children (merged)

Actually, the commander of the US troops was interviewed, and he was pointing to one roof top after another.

The picture of the car that I posted was particularly telling. A lot more than just one US soldier had to start shooting that car. My theory is that the Fedayeen knew there was going to be a protest, planned an attack, and did it specifically so Al-Jazeera had some nice juicy anti-US propaganda. You guys are swallowing it hook line and sinker.

let me ask you all this:

How do you know the dead and injured died from M-16's, and not AK-47's. How are you so absolutely sure?

Given the types of attacks that were being reported weeks ago, suicide attacks, hiding behind women and children, doesn't this sound consistent with other details of Fedayeen firefights?

Does it strike you as odd that this conflict was in one of the only towns to have been celebrating the Birthday of Saddam?

this is bad PR for AMerica which will only solidify the hatred in the Arab world.

yawn Ohioguy. People arent as stupid as you think they are. On the ground reports BBC, Reuters Al Jazeera say the opposite. But you have to pick up a statement which no media organization claims and make up stories.

Elvis is alive and living in your basement isnt he?

I see the spin already being established as a fact.

Some sources claim it was a "pro-Saddam" protest.. and participants were carrying banners and Saddam portraits.

Others claim it was just a crowd protesting occupation of a school by American soldieres.

Please be careful in reading what comes your way to see through the deception some will attempt due to the event occuring on Saddam's birthday.

News reporters only have two sources, the residents and the soldiers.

So tell me this. IF the Fedayeen are in the town, how long would a town resident live if he told AL-Jazeera that the Fedayeen started the fight?

Easily. They did it in Afghanistan.

Now riddle me this boy wonder: When will an american accept the fact that he killed children and people without cause? Not in this mans army.

Let's drop the "Fidayeen" theories.. they got no paymaster now.. and if Saddam was even half as bad as everyone was told, they have no reason whatsoever of continuing to kill in his name, not to mention to be organised enough to weed out 'squealers'.

So to kill those guys on roof-tops, demonstraters were shot?? very very bad aim I’ll say, they need a refresher course in shooting.

and that will definitely lead to a win by Saddam Hussein

You might be suprised:

And finally, from nearly every one of the 16 soldiers in the room, heartbreaking details about the death of innocents at their hands. The killings occurred April 9, the day before Saddam’s statue was hauled down in a scene that told the world the regime had been vanquished.
Amid a series of suicide bombings, soldiers at a checkpoint near the entrance to one of Saddam’s palaces had been ordered to take out any vehicle that ignored instructions to stop and a volley of warning shots.
An Iraqi soldier had barreled through, dressed as a civilian in a car full of weapons, and he’d been cut down by these soldiers hunkered down in ambush position. Then came another car, whose driver also ignored warning shots, and the soldiers opened fire with deadly purpose. A father and his daughter were killed. The mother, who emerged from the burning car unhurt, spent the next four hours in the faces of the men who had just wiped out her family.
“That was the worst thing of the whole war,” one soldier said. From another: “Having to listen to her cry and scream that whole time, that she and her family were just coming home from church services (they were Christians, not Muslims), I’ll never forget it.”

Another voice added that he saw the terrible accident unfolding as though in slow motion and knew at the outset, when he saw who was in the car, “all it would take is one guy to start firing” and then he’d have to decide — shoot a brother soldier to try to prevent a tragedy, or… But everything happened so fast, there was no time for that decision.

yawn They repent. They dont apologise for what they did. The 7 women killed in the car, we hear of no apology for that. They killed innocents. I hope they never forget.

you obviously skipped ove the part where one soldier considered shooting another to stop a tragedy.

Easy to second guess from your keyboard.....

Easy for them to say it all after the people are dead. Tell the Mother/wife. The cruel irony of the quote:

People are people. But they have a habit to dehumanize the enemy, making the kills acceptable. I wonder how long that will set in with the troops. It has already set in with the American Arm Chair Generals here.

Yes you remember one of the earliest American atrocities of the war i.e. the gunning down of a whole family in a car, including children and babies? There the US soldiers claimed they fired warning shots, but the reporter there said the opposite. But I bet you will still defend that American war crime as well?

btw, remember in another thread the other day you hoped that US soldiers were not going to occupy schools for military purposes? Well guess what they were doing that during this latest atrocity - occupying a school for military purposes. How are you going to defend that?

So why did they shoot people on the ground? Me thinks the USA commander lies....

Pathetic way of wriggling out of a mess. The reports are clear that the USA shot into the crowd.

Accept it. Since World War 2 the USA felt nothing for the death of innocents when their troops get into contact situations. Just go ask the people of Vietnam where you guys wiped out whole vilages by aerial attacks.

So what? Surely the people are allowed to celebrate/demonstate as they want? Surely the USA should have told their commanders on the ground to be more cautious, especially on such a day?

Pathetic excuses. Rather owe up that the USA made one big blunder.

Old man to the point. Ohioguy answer his questions and points.

The American war criminals are once again shooting and killing Iraqi demonstrators…

Some trigger happy red neck must have set 10 points for the dead guy.

Pathetic "peace keeping". Lets see what this time people have to say... perhaps same as before "they were shot at".

Yup with spit balls maybe.
