Now you’re just being silly. The state grants marriage licenses under specific circumstances. If those circumstances are not met, then the marriage is not legally recognized. In other words, if it isn’t legal, then it’s illegal. So there really isn’t any need to codify in law and ban every possible alternative marital arrangement the 1 billion+ people of India can come up with.
