The Pentagon is reportedly preparing for a possible order to strike Syrian targets with cruise missiles, as evidence mounts of the use of chemical weapons emerges from an attack on a Damascus suburb earlier this week, CBS News reported Friday.
Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is expected to present options Saturday for a punitive cruise missile strike against military assets of the government of Bashar al-Assad, reported David Martin, CBS’s Pentagon correspondent.
A strike will depend on decisions yet to be made by President Barack Obama. In an interview with CNN Friday, Obama described the attack in Damascus leaving hundreds dead as a “big event of grave concern,” but stopped short of definitively declaring it a chemical weapons attack and said that the evidence must be clear and must be able to be presented to the United Nations to justify a punitive missile strike.

The Arab countries do not want to get their hands dirty so they will want the US to do the work for them. It actually works out the same because both are on the same side against Assad.
If though had the Saudis directly sent an army to defeat Assad they would be seen as Islamic heroes by the Sunni masses, but if the Americans did it they would be seen as interfering with Muslim matters again and as murderers. Even though the Saudis care little about the people they are clearly only interested in their own power.

You're underestimating the US military power. Btw, if Saudis and other hardline Arabs jihaidis haven't infiltrated into Syrian conflict it would have been much easier to support opposition in ousting Assad. So, right now its hard to tell who is the good guy in this conflict.

Saudis are playing some dangerous games.
First they are backing Sunni Jihadists in Syria whose only goal is to make Syria an extremist Sunni State and then they are supporting the Secularists in Egypt who oppose the Sunni Extremists like the Muslim Brotherhood.

In Syria, there are two evil groups at war with each other. I would not be surprised if Assad used chemical weapons and I would not be surprised if the al queda terrorists used chemical weapons themselves in order to drag other countries into the conflict.
i even would not be surprised if it was USA or Israel who did this in order to ultimately weaken Iran.
