U.S. Elections 2008

Even though it is quite early, presidential debates have already begun, candidates are starting early, and the power of the Internet will be harnessed and seen even more in the so-called democratic process. I wanted to ask the GS members to comment on their favorite candidates so far, and to link us to their interviews, youtube videos etc.

So far, my favorite is Republican Ron Paul, a very traditional man, a constitutionalist, and I think people would be crazy to not put this guy in the White House. He wants to eliminate income tax, the IRS, and his track record is solid. He actually gets things done.

Here is one interview that really sums up all of his views:

Those who want to listen in MP3 format can download the file from Paul’s campaign web site. Search for “Ron Paul on New Hamsphire Public Radio”. Paul was interviewed in by Laura Knoy on June 5, 2007.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

^^ You are not that solve et cougla guy from switzerland who posts on many forums, are you?

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Why, is there a swiss guy who likes Ron Paul?

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

^^ Yes he does and he keeps flooding all the forums with these alternative type of posts. He was the first one that i came to know about Ron Paul! I haven’t seen his name mentioned in any polls or news?

Who knows this Ron Paul could be like Bush too? Bush made many promises about illegal detention of people [mentioned arabs?] but then…

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

hahaha, well if you watch the debates on CNN and Faux News, then you would know about him. He is quickly gaining popularity online, and the reason you haven’t heard of him as much as Jewliani or Hitlery, is because the mainstream media tries to cover up his popularity. He has won almost every poll, yet nary a peep from the corporate controlled, supposedly free media.

What promises did Bush make regarding Arabs? As for him being like Bush, listen to the interview

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

^^ I am just saying as a possibility. Bush did make some statements saying he would be against illegal detention or right violations of arabs? and lieberman was on gore ticket which made many muslims choose bush in 2000. Of course, there are people I know in my family [business type] and blacks that always vote democrat but I think in that election, people in their mosques were told to vote for bush.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

:rotfl:

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Yes people now will laugh but back then people praised bush against the israeli agent lieberman lol.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

that's because people didn't bother to research into the backgrounds and connections of Bush and just listened to the tunes of their local maulvi.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

If you wanna take that route then let me tell you that almost all big politicians here are putty into the hands of AIPAC. I know some people will come and say that I’m being a conspiracy theorist [don’t want to admit the truth] but facts are facts :hehe:

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Ron Paul and Joe Biden are the only people I like.

Ron Paul because he is the only guy with a brain with the Republican candidates.

Joe Biden because he is the Chairman of the Powerful Foreign Relations Committee and we need an American President who understands World Politics not the dumb ass Bush who didn't even know who the PM of India was....

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

true and there is nothing conspiracy like about that. the difference is that Ron Paul is not a big politician.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Nah yara, your Al - I am suddenly an enviormantalist and I invented the web - Borland...who BTW would have done zilch to alter the status quo vis-a-vis subjugation of Palestinians through America's pimp Israel or the Iraqis through america's whore UN sanctions...refused to meet muslim represetatives just prior to the 2000 election...as he might have been accused by the zionist wing jof the democratic party of meeting with the terrorists....

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Haha, Al Borland, can't disagree with anything you said above, though. Bush/Gore, different sides of the same coin.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Comparing Gore to Bush is like comparing left to right, intelligence with stupidy, knowledge with ignorance, tolerance with dogmatism, light with dark, truth with lies, forward thinking with backward thinking, humility to arrogance, benevolence with malevolence, etc, etc, etc.

The winning ticket for 2008 is Gore/Obama. Mark it down.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

^^ Obama, no way... the guy reminds me of this year's Howard Dean

He is gonna run out of gas because the guy doesn't have enough experience...

My guess would be Hillary Clinton and John Edwards.....

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

^ Seminole, I will mark it down when Al Gore announces that he has found the lock and key for our Social Security System. Also, it will be wise of him to develop some standard or protocol for protecting/securing information over the internet. Until than, Al Gore is a stiif, hypocrit, liar, pretentious, cry baby.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

Obama isn't ready for the top of the ticket. But under Gore would be a powerful ticket.

The SS system is in ruins, and not because of Gore's ill conceived, ill delivered 'lock box' campaign 8 years ago.

He isn't nearly as stiff as he was 8 years ago, as if that matters. The stiff, incoherent babbling by W didn't prevent him from being elected.

He is no more of a liar than any politican, I'd be willing to bet less so than 90% of them. And just because the man is more intelligent than the average person (and poster on GS), doesn't make him pretentious.

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

this thread should be a sticky....

I agree with Merc on Obama. is Gore actually going to run?

Re: U.S. Elections 2008

^^ no Gore isn't gonna run....
