Two Sunni Ulema, MUfti Jamil Khan of Jamia Banori town and Nazim Aalmi Tahafuz-e-Majlis-Nabuwat Nazim (who took after when Mufti Shamzai was killed)and Mufti Tonsuvi ( Khatma-e-Nabuaat’s Ameer) were killed when they left their place for Maghrib prayers. I just came from the University and didn’t know what the commotion was all about on the streets with so many people around and worst traffic jam. Now, I know the reason because I wasn’t far from the famous Medressah of Banori Town. :–(
I just heard the news on Geo/PTV/ARY channels
Nazim Aalmi Tahafuz-e-Majlis-Nabuwat Mufti Jamil martyred in Karachi
KARACHI: Nazim Aalmi Tahafuz-e-Majlis-Nabuwat and renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Jamil along with his colleague Ameer Khatam-e-Nabuwat Sindh Nazir Taunsvi were seriously wounded near Guru Mandir in Karachi as unknown gunmen on motorcycle sprayed bullets on their car.
so basically there is no law and order in pakistan..after every attack our govt says they will do this and that yet they can't stop these attacks...its so easy to kill others in pak
what do u mean by "bad elements"..all i am saying is that there is a difference between innocent people and people who preach violance against different sects..some of these fanatics openly claim that its ok to kill the shias..anyways i dont know about these 2 sunni ulemas but i am not happy with this news either..i want to see peace in pakistan but this will just cause more problems
u r response to "there are problems on both sides" was "not really, 1 side doesn't attack innocent civilians.." that implied that one side is justified in removing the perceived "bad elements" ..
Killing on either side regardless of what other side believes or preaches is wrong …
do u realize how many shias have been killed..until recently there was no attack from them...and who knows they still might not be responsible for these attacks...its kinda hard to control emotions when people fire at ashoora jaloos..and the every bullet has 'shia kafir' written on it..then they continue with 3 more bombs blasts at shia mosques..marnay walay insaan k bachay hi hain farishto k nahi

so sunnis kill sunni ulemas? nice logic.
why dont you come out and condemn this voilence as sunnis condemned the bomb blasts on shia masjids? why this selective condemnation.

not really

Of course.
The killing of the 2 imams was justified so were the 33 killed in the Multan blast (read the other thread), we knew they were guilty from the start. Who needs courts anyway, its just a waste of time isnt it. Oh but it was probably the sunnis doing it to themselves. So its all good.
Nice to see you were "not happy with this news" and you "want to see peace in pakistan". Still any condemnation would be too much to ask.

This is the very logic that these Sunni extremsits subscribe to when they bomb and behead "kafirs".
but please do not draw equivalence between indiscriminate, multiple bombings over an extended periods of time with targeted, reactionary killings of specific people who have indulged in sectarianism.
SSP is the single biggest most visible anti-shia, pro-violence group in Pakistan. Similarly binnori mosque is famous in karachi for being violently opposed to shias.
That said. and this is important. this is condemnable particularly in the bombing and not so much as these two people (because they were probably indirectly/directly responsible for a LOT of bloodshed).
Because you can never do anything but injustice with bombs on unarmed civilians.

Shia's or Sunni? Dont you realize that too many human lifes have been taken just coz of ppl like you, who differ between SHIA AND SUNNI! Who differ between Muslim and MUSLIM!
Sheraz CT,
can u call thoese 2 sunni ulemas as shaheed! they were not involved in any sectarian thing .. or the term is reserved only for shais? After these deaths there wasa top shia ulema Tarabi at TV who referred killled in Sialkot as shaheeds but the ones in mulatan as killed but for these 2 ulemas he used the term killed! what a discrimination..

I would say there is a huge, huge difference between those people who constantly incite violence against innocent (not directed at the two ulemas)and those who are forced to take up arms and seek justice, as a result of Governments faliure, year after year, in being able to protect them.
That said, im not saying i agree with trying to end violence with more violence. In a place where you are a minority, that would be pretty much suicidal as seen over the past couple of days. But im not one to judge, i mean its not my family (God forbid) who are constantly on the recieving end is it.
