Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Actually I didn't care much for Sanjaya's performance - the song was unfamiliar, the music was very slow and the (famous) hairdo made him look quite creepy (to me).
Blake was awesome. Week after week, the guy comes in and gives a fun, entertaining and musically sound performance. Unless he screws up big time, the dude is in the running.
I usually like Chris Richardson - even with his nasally voice - but this week he was just ok. Melinda, Lakisha and Jordan are all very good. Haley, less said the better. Phil is (finally) going home today.
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Sanjaya is not in the bottom 3
He survives again
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Oh Sanjayas in and Phil FINALLY goes-cant wait to watch it on friday!
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Haley was sent home last night, not phil. This must be the first time when there are no white girls in the top 7.
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
^^ yup and as such ratings are gonna go down
You have 3 fat and un-attractive black girls singing mostly ballards and you have the sub-par guys...
This has to be the worst group of contestants in American Idol History, although Season 3 was really bad too
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Oh i didnt realise it was Hayley. Well i'll watch it tomorrow eve in London!

Haley brought a lot of colors to the show but with ordinary voice. Its amazing how Simon gives positive feedback one week on something and a complete opposite and negative feedback the next week on the exact same thing. He called Haley a "naughty little thing" with a huge smile on his face followed by some positive feedback on her looks/voice. This week he criticized her of using a cheap way to have gotten this far - too revealing cloths. I felt bad for her. She had to be cut but this was no way to end it for her.

Fat she is but I wouldn't call Jordin unattractive. I honestly think that Jordin and Blake will be the top 2. She needs to sing more "singers songs" as Paula puts it. Melinda and Lakisha are good but too boring.

American Idol Heartache: Sanjaya Malakar's Painful Secret
By Tashi Singh
Apr 12, 2007
American Idol's Sanjaya Malakar has taken a lot of abuse. His off-key performances have been labeled "very weak and a little weird" by the caustic Simon Cowell, rudely mocked on Saturday Night Live, and even made the subject of an endless attack of snide remarks from shock jock Howard Stern.
And let's not forget all the unwanted attention the 17-year-old singer takes for his ever-changing and occasionally bizarre hairdos. But it all pales in comparison to some of the adversity this young man has already endured.
Sanjaya Malakar has already lived through his parents' divorce and near-poverty conditions during his early childhood, reports Star Magazine. But his toughness and courage in the face of adversity shouldn't really surprise anyone.
According to Star, Malakar's world fell to pieces in October of 1992, when he was only 3 years of age - and his sister Shyamali, a former Idol contestant, was 5 - after his father, Vasudeva Malakar, 44, filed for divorce from their mother, Jillian Recchi, 41.
According to documents obtained by the magazine from Snohomish County, Washington, Superior Court - the parents were followers of the Hare Krishna sect.
Upon filing of the divorce, the family had almost no income. Sanjaya, Shyamali and their mom Jill were living in a Seattle apartment and her only income was $531 a month from welfare.

Well i finally watched amereican idol last night.
I have to say Sanjaya wasnt that bad....Hayley howeva was dreadful. She didnt even look pretty...just tarty.
I really wish Phil Stacey will go home now...hes always in the bottom 3...i know a cat has 9 lives but jeez his number has to b up soon.
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Well sad story and all the best to Sanajaya and his family in the future.
But I guess every other contestant must have some hurtful angle or another to their lives as well, like every human being does, this shouldn't be used to attract any sympathy.
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
Country music night wasn't all that great. I only really liked Melinda's number. The rest were quite boring. Although Blake sounded good when said "Blueeeee" :D
Re: Two Indian kids make it through to the next round in AmericanIdol
our long national nightmare is over
Sanjaya is gone from American Idol
Now what we are left with is 3 Fat Black girls and 3 White guys
