I actually feel for Casey. The dude is always in the bottom pile in the last few episodes, is sheepishly smiling with his heart sinking and then given the good news that he has survived.
Before last night's episode, I told my wife that they won't let Hailey go, because her legs are good for ratings. And I guess thats what happened.
Sanjaya wasn't half bad this week, actually. He may not be a terrific singer, but as Paula said, he is a great entertainer. This is 'American Idol' and not 'American Singer'. I don't think he'll win though. Melinda and Lakisha have to do something really terrible to let this one slip. These girls have a lock on the title right now. They are just too good.

the best singers are most un-attractive signers out there
you got 3 over-weight black girls
I think this is the season which begins the decline of American Idol
Its not just good singing voices but also looks.
Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are both successful because they are good singers and good looking
Ruben Studdard or Fantasia flopped because they were both un-attractive

I didnt know Fantasia flopped in the States? I thought her career did well. Oh well!
They finally showed American Idol here in London on Friday. Sanjaya tried his best i suppose but i dont think Gina shud have gone. I find her quite annoying going on abt the whole rocker chick image thing but Hayley was worse.

Oh yeh out of interest how has Taylor Hicks done from last yr? No1s heard of him here apart from him being the bloke who won American Idol.

^^ yup Taylor was a flop because he is too old, he is 30, and looks like 40....
And Daughtry is doing good. His rock album was good and so was Katherine McPhee is also doing well.

Rah man im quite shocked. Its no longer a music show but a popularity show. Thing is ppl vote the winner in yet dont buy their music. Thats bad. Mind u the same thing happened here a few yrs ago with this overweight girl called michelle mcmanus. She was this scottish girl who quite frankly i didnt think cud sing at all. Well she was getting a huge sympathy vote cos all the judges said she wudnt win cos she was very overweight-like 24 stone. Well since she won the show, she had 1 hit and no1 has heard of her since. Except for when shes advertising diet products or claiming to lose 15 stone which so isnt true!
Its sad its not abt raw talent anymore but popularity.
It is bizarre when the runners up seem to do better than the winner.

Some of the remarks by the usual Indian haters who have already lost their credibility, and as such I will call it a 'touch of jealousy'.
Regarding Sanjaya, its not only about singing, but about winning the hearts of the fans. And this is what he has achieved.

Atleast he made us laugh and then looked cute and innocent and naive and then won our sympathies and evrybody lved him and then he got that 40-50 grand music video deal, which was a very very hot video too:D
but Sanjaya on the other hand is a pain really...

But why is it then that when these ppl win the show, they end up being flops afterwards? Why dont the public back them up and actually buy their records instead of just giving a huge sympathy vote and then leaving them to rot by not buying their albums. :halo:

Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have natural talent and thus have succedded
but Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks all flopped because after the initial hype no one cared
