He was a weak link. American Idol voting finally got it right and now we are left with 6 performers who are definitely better than the ones who are booted out.

Phil is still dicey. He romped home on the country night, because thats a genre he is comfortable in. I didn't find him good in prior genres.

Melinda is still the odds-on favorite, along with Jordan. Lakisha and Chris are not likely to make it to final 2. I have high hopes for Blake. He is gooooooood!!

ps. By the way, my suggestion is to now finally change the title of this thread to make it just "American Idol".

Melinda is out which is good for her as she'll have a record deal really soon I'm sure!!

I guess Ms Sparks from AZ is going to win this one!

A lot of critics are whining about Melinda being booted, but I think the two who are left are probably the best contenders for "American Idol" crown. Pardon my lack of musical knowledge, but Melinda always sounded a bit mardaana to me, and while judges and voters, week after week, were effusive of her talent and her voice, I just couldn't see her being an "Idol".

Jordin must be the hands-down favorite now. She is cute (not Haley-cute, of course), and has a charming personality. Her voice is also pretty good and strong. But Blake has amazed me week after week (read my post #122 above). If he can pull more rabbits out of his fabulous (and proverbial) hat, he can really grab a lot of votes. And don't forget, young girls are a big voting block for Idol and many of them are in love with Blake and his smooooth charm.

Asif's prediction on #128 came true. Good job, dude!
