Well if Sanjaya wins then its not abt singing at all. Thats what happened a few yrs ago in the UK. This bloke called Steve Brookstein got a huge sypathy vote cos the brits for sum reason always back the underdog, anyway he won while the mega talented group lost. Well almost 4 yrs on no1 has heard of Steve brookstein like hes been airbrushed out of existence and the very talented runner up group G4 have actually done incredibly well and r still going.

As soon as Ryan came in wearing the mock mohawk, my kids immediately declared that "Sanjaya is safe". Lo and behold, the dude wasn't even in the bottom 3. This is the second consecutive time he is not in the bottom either. So the Sanjaya-mania is apparently now sweeping the voters. I think AI is an otherwise fabulous and highly entertaining show. Having Sanjaya linger on is doing additional wonders to the curiosity factor of the show. Producers must be having a ball there.
I feel for Paul Casey. Every time he is called up as a bottom 2/3 candidate, suffer palpatations and then makes the cut. No way Hailey was going home. She was fantastic. Chris Sligh probably knew he is going home even when he was singing the horribly off-tune song on Tuesday.
Due to sucky guys, gender balance in the show is now highly skewed in favor of girls.

speaking of sanjaya, my pet monkeys' morale is getting higher as sanjaya is progressing towards the finale! My monkey is just so willing to participate in the next season of the American Idol and thinks that it can do better than the chimp!
Will my monkey get all the desi call center votes too????:)

I know many of Pakistanis would like to belive that Call centers are doing it. First of all I am not sure if Call Center guys even care or understand songs that are sung on Idol. heck…even most of Indians who live in USA dont relate to it. So take your India hate some where else.

F&B stop being ignorant yourself and go read my post again, i never said it's INDIAN call center rather I said DESI call center that includes all! the site you provided looks like is created by some pissed off American Idol kicked out... I don't think that the American Idol winner and the runner ups last season, or the season before, have got no talent. Although they were not the best but still they were better than a monkey with his tail on fire or many cartoons that appear for the auditions. Infact, for me Carrie Underwood and Katherine McPhee deserved to be where the are today!

American Idol (and other programs like it) are not much about finding music talents.
The participants sing a song written and composed by someone else, and try to mimic the vocals as close to original voice as possible. So the participants are talented mimics at best.
In any case its a good business for the company...

Actually Most American Idol winners have been flops
Season 1 - Kelly Clarkson emerged as a Star
Season 2 - Ruben Studdard flopped instantly while Clay Aiken had some success
Season 3 - Fantasia had moderate success but her follow up album has flopped while Jennifer Hudson won an oscar which was not related to her singing career
Season 4 - Carrie Underwood emerged as the best singer from all the seasons of American Idol
Season 5 - Taylor Hicks has flopped while Katherine McPhee and Daughtry had done good.
So far, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have emerged as true stars after 5 seasons of American Idol
