Two-faced showbiz people

Re: Two-faced showbiz people

Gina baby, I fully understood what your point was, and your clarification didn't add anything to my understanding of it thereof.

But thanks for attempting to clarify something that was pretty clear from the get go.

My response is still the same. Who wants to dress like a politician? Especially a Pakistani politician? You're assuming that Pakistani politicians are more worthy of respect than a Pakistani celebrity.

I don't think so. I pay more respect to celebrities who have done more for the country with all their charity work, than a bunch of politicians who have and still rape the country of all its precious resources.

Nirma and all these goofs included, actually. They may be bimbos, but they're not raping the treasury and giving an OK to a foreign power to drop bombs on their villages.

^ Grrr that's exactly what I said! Follow thru with the entire thread..not just bits and parts please!

When wondergirl said idolize people that have done something for Pak, to that I added that NO one ever says I wanna dress like Benazir did..or Sherry Rehman because they hardly matter and hardly even looked-upon!

Where girls, want to dress like Nirma, Meera and Resham's all the time.. if u go thru the fashion and beauty thread, u'll see girls asking for pics of what Hema Malini wore, Katrina wore... never what Sonia Gandhi wore or Jaylalitha wore!

And NO I'm not assuming or pointing out that they are more worthy of respect cuz they're not! The topic is 2 faced celebs.. the issue is saying protesting against sumthing and doing it urself... the stars vs politicians was an example!

Another great example:

Actress and Singer Shahida Minni ( Melody Queen Of Asia ) say that The Lollywood is not same as before. Now environment of Film industry is not suitable to sing a song. She told that Pakistani Film industry is my Passion and she do more then 200 films But now she can't sing for films because of vulgarity of film songs.

She also Say that our country have many talented people but they need right time and right place to show the talent for films

I hate these kinds of people.

:smack: you are taking the term ‘idolize’ very loosely here i see, seriously, what do following fashion fads have anything to do with idolizing anyone? theres a difference between style icons and cultural icons, their impact on a society is totally different and unless we learn to differenciate between the two, this is a moot point altogether.

Pop culture these days is being confused as ‘iconic’. thats why we hear so often that our cultural/religious values are on the brink of extinction. Fashion or style icons are media created/generated, the kind you are talking about, they are not idols by a long shot. Cultural icons have deep-seated roots in that culture or society, they are representatives of a majority of the population not just the elite 2% of the country and they don’t go out of fashion like a fad does.

^ Grrr that's exactly my point! People wud take fashion and the glamorous lifestyle of stars anyday over politicians!

I'm not taking it "loosely" im giving u ONE example out of many how it holds true!

Shahida Mini is another great example of such a person.. she's well know for all types of "indecent" movies and stage-plays and today she objects to songs cuz of vulgar lyrics..and easily forgets that she danced vulgar to vulgar songs once.
