I’m thinking of making an account on twitter. What are the pros and cons?

I don’t understand. Why do people join Twitter?

Twitter is you follow people, and they follow you. And its another social networking site. If you have business it is helpful, but linkedin is better for career people. I like twitter because I follow famous people, and sometimes they write good posts. But thats about it no use of it.

You don't have to follow others.

You can just search people by name and read their ( snippents of wisdom or not ) 'tweets'.

When you follow someone, all their tweets show up on your screen when you log in so that you don't have to call up their name in the search box.

I believe that until recently you didn't have to have an account to read other people's tweets.

I did have a celebrity follow me once, for a whole day.
I thought I was special for a whole day :) until my follower list fell by one.
I am not telling who.
Obviously he made a mistake and realized.
