Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

The TV audience decides the MoM, how would they have known that Razzaq would hit winning runs? But you have to say that Afridi's innings really did help us win otherwise it would have gone down to the wire.

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

^^...lol...People still like Afridi even when he gets out on 0 (they leave the stadium)...including me... :D

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

again, in this match, public voting decided the MOM and not a panel.

hmmmmmmmmmm...

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

I always think that Razzaq doesn't get that much public appreciation. he deserves so much of it. He is a match winner and has played much better than Afridi a lot of times.

So where is Bhola...

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

For me Asif is the unsung hero of this game. His bowling set us up very well otherwise if it wasn’t for those 2 quick wickets Pieterson could well have changed the course of the game. And Afridi set up the run chase with that blistering 10 ball innings. At one point his strike rate was 311.1!

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

Great match by pakistan and congratulations to the team!

Man of the match could have gone to a few players. I was myself surprised that Afridi got it. In fact i think afridi was surprised he got it. He played a very good knock and did turn the game around at that point in time. However, i think other players who could have just as easily got the mom would have been asif, trescothick, razzak and even Hafeez. Hafeez looked very good most of the match and his fine stroke play at times (especially his backward sweep for 4) was great to see. All in all, well done Pakistan. MOM really doesnt matter at this point because what this team needed was a victory and hopefully this sets up an exciting series. 20/20 victory may also trigger Pakistan to keep the same squad as this squad seemed very good to begin with.

Asif and Akthar would be a great one two punch for Pakistan, and Rana a great replacement for either bowler. Razzak and Afridi can take up the core of the middle innings, while those three can hopefully do something with the new ball and the last 10 overs. Rana is known for his disturbances in the final few overs of a match, so hopefully he continues.

Mohammad Yousuf needs to continue his test form. he looked great today. Younis Khan was an exception today. Hafeez will most likely open and hopefully guide Pakistan with atleast a 50. If Akmal can provide bottom order resileance and Afridi can achieve his quick runs like he always does, this team can surpass or near 300 on any given day.

GOOD LUCk!!!

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

Downgrade your dreams a bit...after all we are Pakistanis...the most unpridictable team in the world...we can do everything and we can do nothing...umpires...fielidng...injuries...incaptaincy at times...chaos...disorders in the team...xcetra and exctra... :)

PS: Anyhow...we will win this series... just to balance this trip... :D howzaaaaaaaaat... :)

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

Good win for Pakistan. I was never a fan of Mohammed Hafeez and questioned his inclusion in the ODI squad. However, he seems to have improved a lot and I was very impressed with him.

Some of his shots especially reverse sweeps were brilliant. seems a sensible and can keep his wicket unlike some recent openers which have been tried.

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

match was awsome :dhimpak:

Cheetah, next time do take the banner of GUPSHUP so that we can identify you!

Re: Twenty20: Pakistan vs England, August 28 @ Bristol

It is good to see Afridi getting some runs. Hopefully that will boost his confidence which was somehow very low after incredibly consitent performances until second test between India and Pakistan this year.

Hafeez has drastically improved himself and seems like he is going to stick around in his third sting in national colors. He is now more side on-ish in his stance and thus much better equipped to play wristy strokes. If he can cement his place alongwith Shoaib as an opener, we will have four all rounders to call upon alongwith three regular seemers in Shoaib, Asif, Rana. Thats a pretty damn good bowling line up.
