I dont see how establishment is a factor here, unless we want to play conspiracy theory.
.
It actually is. PMLN too in 80s and early 90s played along with the establishment just like how now you have Sheikh Rasheed, TuQ, Chaudhry brothers and even PTI doing so.
Yes it is because Emirates thinks so as well. I swear to Allah you gotta get those biased eye glasses off.
Stopping 40 people from leaving the plane, refusing to leave and keep the plane on the ground is hijacking it.
TUQ stopped people from leaving the plane? When did that happen? As far as I remember, he himself refused to disembark, perhaps alongwith his own entourage...but I dont remember reading that he disallowed any other passenger from disembarking. Plus, I dont think the passengers were in Lahore by choice. They all had tickets for ISB, where they were disallowed entry by the govt for no valid reason other than its own ineptness.
Im not biased, as I have no reason to root for TUQ, but the fact remains that while he is a self-centered religious egoist, the govt itself is a chock-full-of blunders. The matter could have been resolved very easily, and it was PMLN that chose to make it difficult.
It actually is. PMLN too in 80s and early 90s played along with the establishment just like how now you have Sheikh Rasheed, TuQ, Chaudhry brothers and even PTI doing so.
PMLN is a direct descendant of the establishment. No secrets about that. And IJI is a documented fact. However, while I dont dispute establishment exercising its influence after that, most of the stuff we hear about is based on conspiracy theories. Basically, a common theory is that any party or individual that gains popularity among the masses is assumed to have establishment behind it. It serves as an easy argument.
Not really. Like I said, PTI, TuQ, PMLQ are all dancing to the tunes of the establishment like PMLN did in the past. They are doing to the PMLN what PMLN did to the PPP back in the day.
Yes, it is hijacking if you are trying to take control of aircraft or preventing passengers from disembarking the aircraft & TuQ by all accounts try to do that. In fact, when plan landed his revolutionaries blocked all entrances to the aircraft preventing passengers from getting off the plane. That is a classic definition of hijacking (attempting to take control of aircraft by unauthorized person/persons).
Latest rhetorical gimmickry from PMLN: 'Tahir ul Qadri came to Pakistan by choice, but he won't be allowed to leave Pakistan by choice - just like Musharraf'. No prize for guessing that this gem was uttered by Parvaiz Rasheed, another man who has every potential to further add to Government's humiliation.
On one hand, Punjab Government is bending backward to pacify him by increasing his security and replacing the barriers they tried to remove in the middle of the night through a violent operation, and on another hand, you have yet another minister playing war of words to further intensifying the tension, and give the situation a whole new twist.
As TS wrote ... a bander (monkey) with annoying accent, that we find abundantly in Pakistan and the one TS talking about was caught by the owner of Raiwand jungle. This breed lives on haddi, and gets very loyal and obedient to people who feed them (I hope TS means same bander I have in mind, if not ... I apologise).
Despite disagreeing thoroughly with TUQ, there is no reason to inflate facts in order to ‘prove’ a point.
According to The National, other passengers had disembarked while TUQ and his men remained on board. From what I remember, their demand was to be flown to the original destination, i-e. Islamabad…and a quick google search gives you at least a couple of such hits where passengers refused to disembark in protest of having been taken somewhere other than their original destination. I didnt read about any such passengers being accused of hijacking.
***Travelling on board the flight was Dr Tahir ul-Qadri and his delegation. As of 11am Dubai time, some passengers have disembarked and are being looked after by our staff at Lahore airport, while we look for alternative options to get them to their destination.
The airline said Dr ul-Qadri and some passengers, however, remained on board. (most likely his entourage)
The Emirates airline plans to file a suit over the damages caused to its reputation by the enforced diversion of its plane carrying Dr Tahirul Qadri on Monday.
***Official sources told Dawn that the airline had told the Civil Aviation Authority that it had been upset by the diversion of its flight EK-612 Dubai-Islamabad to Lahore, causing a great deal of inconvenience to passengers on the plane and those waiting at the airport to fly to Dubai.
“The Emirates pilots were shocked to receive the ‘order’ to take the plane to Lahore because there was no issue of weather or airport occupancy,” sources said.***
All I know is that Uncle is one hell of a passive aggressive troll. You look at him and then you hear him speak, and the first thing that crosses your mind is that without a doubt appearance can be deceiving.
