TuQ Arrival

Re: TuQ Arrival

Despite disagreeing thoroughly with TUQ, there is no reason to inflate facts in order to ‘prove’ a point.

According to The National, other passengers had disembarked while TUQ and his men remained on board. From what I remember, their demand was to be flown to the original destination, i-e. Islamabad…and a quick google search gives you at least a couple of such hits where passengers refused to disembark in protest of having been taken somewhere other than their original destination. I didnt read about any such passengers being accused of hijacking.

Emirates Airline flight carrying Pakistan cleric Dr Tahir ul-Qadri diverted to Lahore | The National

***Travelling on board the flight was Dr Tahir ul-Qadri and his delegation. As of 11am Dubai time, some passengers have disembarked and are being looked after by our staff at Lahore airport, while we look for alternative options to get them to their destination.
The airline said Dr ul-Qadri and some passengers, however, remained on board. (most likely his entourage)

The Emirates airline plans to file a suit over the damages caused to its reputation by the enforced diversion of its plane carrying Dr Tahirul Qadri on Monday.
***Official sources told Dawn that the airline had told the Civil Aviation Authority that it had been upset by the diversion of its flight EK-612 Dubai-Islamabad to Lahore, causing a great deal of inconvenience to passengers on the plane and those waiting at the airport to fly to Dubai.

“The Emirates pilots were shocked to receive the ‘order’ to take the plane to Lahore because there was no issue of weather or airport occupancy,” sources said.***
