Whats up with the wives here and their preference to address their husbands as ‘aap’, whereas preferring to be addressed as ‘tum’ in return?

they want to show respect for their husbands while they still want to maintain some intimacy. we can’t say which is right and which is wrong because it’s a personal preference.
