There was this news spread yesterday that after Taliban’s threat, Karachi’s traffic police started removing music systems from vehicles and I thought ’ tullas got another chance to get their hands washed in behti Ganga’.
On my way to office, I saw a tulla (traffic police wala desi anda) who had stopped a van carrying desi murghis and I was not surprised to see that a murghi was being gifted to him in shopping bag openly in public
How people have accepted these kind of open demonstration of receiving bribery says a lot about moral value of our society.
The connected question, what makes people to accept such practices without any fear?
Is it acceptable social and cultural norm or its another act attracting ‘deen se doori’ phrase?

once my friend was stopped on the main road (infront of that mcdonald I mentioned above). When he stopped, he said "sarkar kuch khidmat ar jain". My friend told him that is he only serving him on the road and left.
before this type of bribing became so public, it existed, since eternity, in a sophisticated manner in the form of 'gifts', 'donations', 'help to poor' etc.
in old days, i heard, that folks used to send 'fasal kii cheezeN" [aam, amrood, tarbooz, Kharbooza etc], on regular basis, to civilian authorities in the city/town to gain favour whenever needed.
there is this guy in India, he always introduces to me the poor N needy person and ask for help. i heard that he then gets his 'commission' from that poor person. he is a true facilitator.
My brother… pick tulla… to whom he supposed to stop and to whom he supposed to ignore… Bhai ki beard dekh kar hi police walay ki jan nikal jati hia… jis confidence aur straightforward hokar baat karty hian… police wala soch samjh kar bolta hia… aik dafa bhai nay rukhy hia 200 thama diye thay… aur agay barh gaye…
