Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

I think Anwar Maqsood 'Sitara aur Mehrunisa' needs a mention here.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

chalo everybody, lets share your favorite scenes from your favorite writers, so that who don't know about our classics can have an idea.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

yes samandar was inspired by Count of monte cristo my cousin met with amjad islam amjad in punjab university (he came to visit) and he admitted that.

kallo was dramatised by neelam ahmed bashir but credit is always for bano qudsia, Fehmida ki kahani… is a masterpiece no doubt.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

younis javed for andhera ujala and long play dhoop deewar (very nice script).

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

yes i agree like marina khan told in her interview that she could not cry in one scene in Tanhayian(when zara did not come for her birthday party) and how shehzad khalil told her that he had whacked an actress before to make her cry and marina certainly did not want that.Directors were great back then!

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

i have not watched this
not even any bajia's or ashfaq ahmed dramas apart from which you recommended.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Younus jawed has on his credit long play Kaanch ka pul (Rohi bano, Toqeer Nasir) and serials Pat JhaR and Ranjish.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Amjad Islam also dramatised Bano Qudsia's Amar Bail (Resham, Abid Ali) and Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi's 'Ihsan' (Arifa Siddiqui, Azmul Haq)

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Do watch Sitara aur mehrunisa. Its a mini serial (6 episodes) filled with powerful performances by Sania Saeed, Anwar Maqsood, zra Sherwani, Sajid Hassan and Atiqa Odho.

Anwar Maqsood's 'Daur e Junoon' and 'Mirza and Sons' are also classics.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

though i had to bear nirma in ranjish but i did because of good script and remaining cast.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

You made me watch Daur-e-junoon.Me,LP and PK watched it together it was good
Ninja told me about mirza and sons, ok i will watch these

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Nirma was good in that role i think. Probably there was some casting issues and the drama was stopped in between to re-shoot and started from episode-1.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

There was a scene in ankahi when shehnaz sheikh was telling qazi wajid about her boss

shuru ho jaty hain machine gun ki tarah turr turr turr turr short hand short hand typing typing.:D
that was funny

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Mirza and sons very very nice drama, faisal qureshi was in both daur-e-junoon and mirza and sons as a child artist.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Ankahi had many funny scenes. One that I liked (dialogue-wise) was when Shehnaz Shaikh came for interview and her application was something like ‘Dekh tera kia haal kardia, khushboo ka jhonka tere sang kar dia.. mera Naam Robinhood hai aur main jungle main rehta hoon’. :rotfl:

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

The dinning table scene of unkahi and when timmy's (jamshed ansari) mother came to know that his son is working as a butler in sana's house.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

I think i am forgetting the dialogues and scenes.
