Looks like India has to bring back the old horse (Srinath) back into the playing eleven
didnt sound like me naa ?![]()
but well, it was too evident to ignore ![]()
Good win for Australia but i think they could have still done better - especially in the batting - Ricky Ponting failed again - and a rare failure for Matthew Hayden. Michael Clarke did well with the ball - Bevcan was surprisingly poor again though - Oh and Zaheer Khan was awful - 7 overs for 64 or something wasn't it? Anyway Australia now finding their feet - but still a lot more to improve.
"Virender Sehwag at extra cover and Mohammad Kaif at cover point present a study in contrast. Kaif is the best fielder in India, and a minute spent looking at him tells one why. Not only is he nimble as a gazelle, he also rarely ever turns off – as soon as the proceedings are over after a ball is bowled he walks back to his mark, just as the bowler returns to his, and prepares for the next ball. He walks in as the bowler runs in, bent low, his eyes fixed on the batsman, and just as the bowler hits his delivery stride, he rushes forward almost on tiptoe, ready to take off in either direction.* Sehwag has a slightly more desultory air about him. His hands are often on his hips, or in his pockets. Kaif wears a cap, a man clearly out on work, and Sehwag a blue hat, like a man of leisure out for a stroll. *Kaif looks like he spends all his time on his toes; Sehwag, on his heels."
Nathan Bracken catches Virender Sehwag in front with his first ball with a nip-backer. Sehwag is horribly late on the shot, and everything about his dismissal suggests it was carefully planned, and seen by Bracken a hundred times in his mind's eye before he came out and did it.
VVS Laxman - This guy was begging to get out from the first ball and first the umpire refused to oblige him on a Plumb, then the aussies denied him the chance. Hell bent on his 'ZID' to go back to the pavillion, Laxman finally decided to go all out and started slashing at ever ball at off-stump and after 10 attempts was finally managed to get out.
Sachin Tendulkar - Looking at the number of lives he got, it seemed luck was in his favor. But he played the one shot too many times and managed to get himself out.
Dravid - Looks like he watched the 1987 world cup final and played the reverse sweep.
Last but not the least - Fielding og Harbhajan Singh, it summed up entire Indian team's performance.
Sehwag and Parthiv Patel should be dropped Immidiately. India doesn't need another superstar. Parthiv should go back and learn how to keep wickets to Spinners.

I watched the match for a while and I was impressed by the way Agarkar bowled. I guess I had been unnecessarily harsh on him.
The irony about the so-called India's strong batting line-up is that it has a longish tail that rarely wags....
Some1 I have lost all respect I had for you. Agarkar and a bowler? ![]()
^ I didn't watch the match but if how he bowled in the 1st match against Aus is any indication, we have to do a lot better than Agarkar
Ok..OK… well Agarkar bowled within his limitations… took 4 wickets…was quite economical…now if only he had a matching body frame…
If he’s not a bowler, then what is he?A batsman? or just another mediocre cricketer? :o
He did hit 22 or very good runs in the 1st match that did wonders. He just doesn't seem to find an edge

One-timer..razzaq probably averages more than 22 with bat and bowl, and guppies (including myself) still dont find him as a good all-rounder. :o
yes i think India should Virender "Veeru" Sehwag...
and bring in Sanjay Bangar or someone else...
Lets seee what Indians are upto next...
Can we have a fkin new thread for every match? Its not gonna take much space i tell ya...These long ass threads are just ridiculous
Then again you will want to split the thread if a single match thread went into second page. ![]()
oH beHave BoSS!
UMAIR316 - sorry my bad - it was a typo - a big one - i meant to say Bichel not Nathan Bracken - I agree that Nathan did well - all the bowlers did well with the exception of Andy Bichel - he was on top of the world few months back - and now he's just became an average all-rounder. :(
anyhow - Nehra for India and Chris Cains for New Zealand are back in the squad - this should make the tournament interesting..hmmmm...
Australia v New Zealand, TVS Cup, Game 5, Pune](http://uk.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2003/NOV/554472_TVS2003-04_02NOV2003.html)
Win the toss and field
Monday’s Australia-New Zealand clash will be the 10th one-day international at the Nehru Stadium in Pune. Both Australia and New Zealand have played once each here, with contrasting fortunes: Australia beat India by eight wickets in 2000-01, while New Zealand suffered a five-wicket at the hands of India in 1995-96.
The past record at this venue suggests that bowling first is clearly the way to success: seven of the nine previous ODIs have been won by the team chasing a target. Winning the toss isn’t necessarily a blessing here, though: only four times has the team winning the toss gone on to win the match as well.
One of the two occasions when the team batting first won was in a 1996 World Cup match, when Kenya pulled off a stunning upset against West Indies. Kenya batted first and managed just 166, but then bundled West Indies out for a mere 93 to win by a convincing 73-run margin.
Only once in nine attempts has the team batting first scored more than 250 here. India achieved that feat, making 286 against Sri Lanka in 1998-99, and ended up winning the match by a comfortable 51-run margin. In the next match played at Pune – against Australia in 2000-01 – the Indians came close again, notching up 248, with Hemang Badani scoring his maiden ODI hundred. It wasn’t enough, though, as Mark Waugh struck a delightful unbeaten 133 to ease Australia to a comprehensive eight-wicket victory with 29 balls to spare.
New Zealand will hope Chris Cairns recovers in time for Monday’s ODI. The only time New Zealand played here, Cairns thumped 103 off 87 balls, with 10 fours and four sixes, and then took 3 for 37 from 10 overs. He won the Man-of-the-Match award, despite New Zealand losing the game.
Aussies won the toss and elected to field first...
Nathan Bracken and Brad Williams bowled beautifully..
Brad Williams ended with 5-53...
Jacob Oram scored 81
Brendon McCullum scored some 50+
NewZealand ended with 258-9
Aussies are 29-0 after 5 overs
what a match!!!!
this was one hell of a thriller....
aus won finally....
but was really pure entertainment....
first NZ collapse followed by a late order assault....
and then aussies almost duplicating the kiwis' performance....
