(mods, keep this here in General…puhlease!)
When crossing the border (by car, not air) to enter the US from Canada, does a non Canadian Citizen (i.e Permanent Resident) still require a passport? Do they need a visa?

Yup u need a passport..
Re: Travelling to the US
Permanent residents of Canada that do not have a Canadian Passport will require a US Visa from the Embassy before they can cross the border by car or by air.
Canadian Citizens with proper ID do not require a passport to cross the border by car until 2008.

Re: Travelling to the US

Re: Travelling to the US
otherwise a quick iq test would do the trick as well.
Re: Travelling to the US
No they don’t need a visa if you are visiting for a week or few days.If you are traveling more than a month then you need a visa. You need a passport too ![]()
Re: Travelling to the US
ume.....u sure?
u lost me
Re: Travelling to the US
Sorry let me tell you again Take your passport as they might check it but you don't need a vise to cross USA boder if you are going for a week or 15 days.If you plan to stay in usa for more than a month then you need a visa and they will give you on boder so don't worry about it.Just take your passport in case because now a days they have a rule that you must have a passport when entering from canada or any other international country.
Re: Travelling to the US
well a non canadian citizen does not have a cdn passport in the first place...so i guess teh rule doenst apply here

**Afshi bibi **- you need a VISA (not the credit card) from the US Embassy in Canada and be prepared to get grilled too, if this is your first visit and you are still not a canadian citizen , i.e just a landed immigrant with a PR card.
