If you hold passport that normally needs visa to USA, no matter u live in Canada (as PR) u do need visa to enter USA. If u are holder of EU passport, u need to carry ur passport, however u dont need visa. If you are Canadian citizen, u can travel by 1) Birth Certificate, 2) Citizenship car & 3)Passport (of course).

When crossing the border (by car, not air) to enter the US from Canada, does a non Canadian Citizen (i.e Permanent Resident) still require a passport? Do they need a visa?
You must have a passport in any circumstance...Regardless...
