This is strange custom, I’ve seen in some Sindhi families. If a guy dies without marriage, his dead body is decorated like a groom. sometimes, they apply mehndi on his hands and put sehra (locally known as MoR) over his face. I thought its done because they (parents) want to fulfill their wishes of seeing their son as groom, but lately I know that it was common custom in Hindus and they used to do this with dead bodies of young unmarried girls.

This practice was followed in rural Punjab as well.
