‘Uski umr thi jaane ki’. This line is quite common when someone dies before 60-70s in our part of the world.
is this also common among other cultures? I mean fixing of certain age for death? Whats considered reasonable age to die?

depends when Allah wants you up there and the life style you have [healthy / unhealthy] and also the level of healthcare you have.
in the west, there is no such concept. they consider themselves ALWAYS young at heart and that's why a 90 year old woman will have a 95 year old boy friend. ;)

offtopic but I think in west, can't a 95 years young lady have 90 year's old boyfriend?
BTW Life expectancy ratio has improved in subcontinent over the period and probably this has also affected concept of 'jawan umar maut'.

sure! jab dil lagaa chuRai'l se to pari kia cheez hai. dil kis pe, kab, kahaN aur kaise aa jaaye, kaun jaane!
i once saw a show in which there were several couples on the stage who were totally opposite of each other in terms of their age, looks and physique. one lady was 77 years old and her BF was 19, one fat fat guy had the skinniest girl friend, one kaaloo had a gorii GF, one had a physical deformity and also a gorgeous GF :p

Well firstly research now shows that historically average lifespans have not changed that much despite huge scientific improvements.
Secondly I reckon a good age to die is around 60 ideally because at least by that point, albeit depending on levels of mobility an fitness, one's life does not become too burdensome and functions are still expected to be relatively okay, if a bit slow...
However I sometimes envy the young deaths particularly he heroic ones. :)

In Arab’s desert, life span was high above 60 and in tribal culture killing of young males created anger leading to long-running wars
