Tragedy of Jawaan Maut

Re: Tragedy of Jawaan Maut

^The rather tragic irony in the case of Afghanistan is that we seem to have gone backwards, in the opposite direction. My parents’ older siblings and other adults of that generation (the 1960s) seem to have had rather normal lives and married at relatively normal ages (around 25-28). I find it quite sad that people of my generation are considered “old” in their late 20s and often marry at 17-18 (both sexes, not just women) as result of the decreased life expectancy. My grandparents often state that this wasn’t the case when they were growing up.
