I am going to marry soon and am busy with the preparations. And of course it’s all really exciting!
Now to the point:
So I was thinking to wear a tiara instead of “tika”
And since I have a small kind if face I was thinking it will look better because with tika and stuff my face will hide behind all those stuff?
Re: Traditional Bride with Tiara? Your opinion please!
Tiara isn't a good option with traditional dress. Agree with Gina, if you have a small face, may be try wearing a smaller tikka and skip jhomar altogether. Best of luck with your wedding preparations =)

My bhabi has a small face but still wore a tika and a very very sleek tiara... She looked gorgeous mashallah.... I think it depends on the hairstyle ans how huge the dupatta is... Hers was a soft fabric with not so huge border... Had a side part..
Ppl loved her on her valima.

Well that sounds good, what kind of hairstyle had she and which color was her dress?

Yelly, the tiara is a modern bride's take on desi fashion, and often only works on fusion gowns like the type created by Khubsoorat Collection or Kiran's in the UK.
If you are set on having that style, but you have a small face, try a chain-like matha patti, not one of those thick ones, but a very delicate, single strand one. The chain across your forehead help it to look slightly wider, by drawing the eye across it. Again, you'd have to try it on to be sure.
My aunt wore a tiara on her wedding many many years ago, my mom was even not married at that time and I wasn't born.
I have seen it on pictures and it looked beautiful.
But I am sorry I can't share pics because I don't have them, she lives in Canada and her husband died some 2 weeks ago so it's not a good idea for asking her to scan them for me and to mail me.

I think a tiara and dress can be done , my gran mm wore a white sari and a veil for her valima, & one of our family friends saw that pic and replicated it and it looked lovely. the dress has to be modern thogh and I think a sober colour pallet cold really compliment a tiara, for eg: kate Middleton's otfit cold easily be replicated in a eastern lehenga style without getting lost in translation.
Keep the dress modern/ elegant & i saw go for the tiara and maybe a net/chiffon transparent dupatta. Good luck :)
Re: Traditional Bride with Tiara? Your opinion please!
PLEASE do not wear a tiara. I've seen pics of several bangladeshi bride with tiaras (small and big) and in my humble opinion, it looked ridiculous on every single picture I've seen.

Yelly, why don't you try on a tiara and ask family/friends their opinion...maybe take some pics and see how it looks. People who can actually see you in one would provide better feedback, imo.
I've only seen the tiara on one desi bride.........and she looked overdone. She's naturally very pretty, MA....but she's delicate....and the tiara along with the dupatta along with the jewelry along with the heavily embroidered bridal clothes.......it just overwhelmed her overall look. A tiara, i think, just gives an over-the-top vibe/connotation.....whereas a tika (imo) is more unique to our culture and has greater elegance....that little piece of jewelry can add so much oomph that you don't really need anything else around your head...it's like a bride is incomplete without it.
Re: Traditional Bride with Tiara? Your opinion please!
i personally wouldn't wear a tiara, but there is no harm in trying it out. if it doesn't compliment the look or looks out of place and over the top you can always do without it.

The kind of tiara Bangladeshi brides wear is totally diffrent then what I want.
What they wear its a made of thick kind of paper or something (I dont like it either) but thats a part of their traditions/culture.
