Re: Traditional Bride with Tiara? Your opinion please!
I don't think I've ever seen a bride pull off a tiara.

Yelly, why don't you try on a tiara and ask family/friends their opinion...maybe take some pics and see how it looks. People who can actually see you in one would provide better feedback, imo.
I've only seen the tiara on one desi bride.........and she looked overdone. She's naturally very pretty, MA....but she's delicate....and the tiara along with the dupatta along with the jewelry along with the heavily embroidered bridal clothes.......it just overwhelmed her overall look. A tiara, i think, just gives an over-the-top vibe/connotation.....whereas a tika (imo) is more unique to our culture and has greater elegance....that little piece of jewelry can add so much oomph that you don't really need anything else around your head...it's like a bride is incomplete without it.
Yeah thats a perfect idea.
Thanks!

You live in Pakistan?
Re: Traditional Bride with Tiara? Your opinion please!
I’m not talking about Bengali Hindu brides that wear the white ones during their hindu ceremony. I’m talking about Bangladeshi Muslim brides wearing tiaras (gold ones) on their baraat/reception (and no, this 2nd part is not part of any tradition.
Either way…you’ve been given quite a few opinions. At the end its your wedding so you should do what makes you happy. ![]()

A tiara is not a good idea

Yellu... Her dress was matte silver and grey.... With trimmings in coral pink and turquoise.
She had a side part... And dupatta was on her head too but eas placed behind the tiara... Back head.... It was very thin thin ans sleek...
Try on diff tiaras.... With dupatta and see what looks nice.... We r delhi walay and our brides always wear tiaras.... My mom was hell bemt on sil wearing one...i was not very sure but its all bout placement , what linda jewellary u have and the tiara itself.
Yup these aren’t looking really nice!
There was a really pretty one which I’ve seen lately in a accesoire and jewellery shop.
Wanna share a pic but dont know how to do.
But I’ve changed my mind, thinking to wear a tikka or matha patti…
Because my lehnga is gonna be a deep pink colour, its kind a mix of pink and red colour with golden embroidery.
If my dress was in a light colour ( like beige, light peach, off-white etc) then would the tiara look nicer.
