Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Iran cannot support its own population, the cost of drugs is sky rocketing, many essential medications are hard to get outside main cities, inflation is astronomical, yet it continues to spend supplying ammunition to Syrians, Hezbullah, houthis, Iraqis.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

^Iran has actually done exceptionally well, and is actually model of resistance, considering all the sanctions it has been under…as far as reports of bad conditions in Iran then dont believe on what the Zionist writers write abt Iran from their platforms…

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Oh please this is why Iran is negotiating with the west? Sanctions have squeezed the power of the mullah.

Btw, is pakustan joining Saudi coalition and was this why CTBT was invited to Riyadh? I don’t know why pakustan should do it when even Oman is not involved. Selling weapons is another issue.

Last 35 years - both sides to blame; but one side has almost killed a million compared to less 300,000 of the other side!

Now they are all united to crush the rebels from Egypt to Qatar! Direct Saudi attack on the rebels!

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Sauids fund terrorists of their liking while fight “other” terrorists. Saudi petrodollars are funding terrorism and destabilizing most of the world. The countries that have paid very heavy price include, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria with 100s of 1000s dead and countries destroyed.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Not a good idea considering sectarianism within the country.

^ So in the garb of ISIS Saudis wanted to use them against houthis, very interesting…

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

So will Iran be justified in supporting the Houthi’s now?

The best solution for all this mess is partition of Iraq, Yemen and Syria into Sunni & Shia countries…with Kurds getting their own as well.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Yemen was only a decade or so already a divided country, not sure if it was on sectarian grounds or not.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Saudi launching a military offensive. Very surprising. But they are too scared to go in on their own as I thought. Now they are dragging Pakistan into it and of course Pakistan cannot say no to their master.

Shameful day for Pakistan. They should not get involved in this mess between Iran and Saudi. Where do all the champions of sovereignty go when they bark all day on TV about Pakistan joining USA’s war? Now they will all shut up and won’t say a word against Pakistan joining Saudi’s war.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

It was on sectarian grounds. The Zaidi Shias rebelled against the Ottomans in 1918 and founded their own state which became North Yemen. South Yemen was the former British protectorate.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Ironically, the Zaidis (the sect that the Houthis are from) are the group amongst the Shias who`s beliefs are the very closest to Sunnis. And yet it has come to this war against the biggest powers of the Sunni world. Although I suppose the last Caliphs also found themselves bogged down in wars against the Zaidis. In the late 1800s the Caliph sent 80,000 soldiers to fight the Zaidis and only 7,000 returned alive.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Who knows that zaydis might now turn to twelver. I don’t how effective it was but Iranians were shoving their version down Syrian throats from a Shiite that I knew. The Syrian alawis had to sunninize themselves, at least publicly, to rule Syria.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Iranians have been since a very long time, appeasing houthis, arming and training them.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

Iranians are equally involved in destabilising Iraq and Syria. They have been promoting shiite militias in Iraq that have killed lot of sunni civilians. Due to their influence shias and sunnis of Iraq have been unable to reconcile, the Iranian backed Maliki did not involve sunni arabs into governance, refused to arm arab tribes when they were being attacked by ISIS. Same thing in SYria, it has been arming a government that faces a popular uprising.

Re: Torn Yemen bleeds in Saudi-Iran proxy war

So now Saudis are bombing Houthis from above rather than sending in their trademark Suicide bombers. I say earlier better than the later for Houthis.
