Toronto is simply my favourite city in North America and no, I don't live there. Fortunately, my work has me travel there very often - it is refreshing to see the complete disregard that Torontoites have for speed limits when one goes northwards from the US.:D Vancouver has the provinciality of a small town that suddenly realised that it grew up - not knocking it at all, but in every wat career-wise and for business, Toronto beats every city in Canada with the possible exception of Calgary.
I have to be there in two or three weeks' time to organise some shipments. Just can't wait!:D
Well obviously Toronto isn't as green or naturally beautiful as Vancouver. To even try to convince somone otherwise would be ignorant. But on all other accounts, the thread starter is wrong since every city centre in the world is similar in most regards. And according to my experience, people are very nice to each other and you'd be hard pressed to find someone flipping you the bird for the smallest of reasons.
I agree with you overall but have two small qualifiers to add
not really true unless you qualify the cities as being major cosmopolitan cities, otherwise if you look at downtowns of places like cleveland ohio or detriot michigan, they are a whle diff thing.
I would rephrase this as..
you’d be hard pressed to find someone flipping you the bird for the smallest of reasons unless you really deserve it
Yep, I did mean major cosmopolitan cities and not just every city centre.
I also agree with the correction of my "flipping the bird" statement. I'm guilty as charged on that account. People who do stupid things really deserve it.
Reasons and negativity that i have noticed and encountered are:
-Pollution in air.( No greenery is promoted within cities, though there are SOME but still need to do more).
-Property taxes are much higher here than BC.
-People seem very very unpatient.(i.e driving, getting on bus by almost pushing at each otha instead of making "lane"..like a civilized citizen).
-People are just onto themselves..they don't a time to make smiling gesture, in otha word..ppl generally are rude. Particularly desi ones.
So what you think torontians here or others who have similiar stuff going on within walls of their cities.?
