(Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Just wanted to add another venue on the list...
THE VUE!!!

It's an excellent (unique) & brand new venue in Mississauga...infact, I'll be getting married there (InshAllah)

I was orginally going to go with Waterstone in Newmarket - but later on found out that there were too many hidden costs & the coordinator was very unorganized & somewhat rude ..which I chose to overlook on many occassions because the I loved the venue so much. However, its very important to love the venue AND the on-site coordinator! Bad customer service during the initial stages of booking the venue is only indicative of what kind of service everyone will receive on the day of the wedding

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Hi Noor,

I was trying to look up vue on google and only came up with nightclubs. Do they have a website? I'd appreciate more info on them. I'm looking for a nice venue for my mehndi / nikkah. It will be on a weekday - a Thursday in June. So far I've emailed a few banquet halls in Mississauga / Oakville / Brampton area and really loved the website for Liuna Gardens in Stoney Creek (only problem is that they're pretty far for me!) - they have an outdoor tent and beautiful gardens - have an appointment with them. Anyone have any other ideas, good halls or a place to have it outside in a garden? Thanks!

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

you're so right! i planned my bff's wedding at the brantford golf and country club, and the coordinator there was one of the rudest, most unflexible people i've ever met. she had no hesitation in making unreasonable last minute demands and being openly hostile about our plans just because they weren't "typical" of her other clientele, and went out of the way it seemed, to make our experience there difficult. it just adds unnecessary stress to the wedding!

i'm sorry the coordinator was terrible and you won't be getting married at Waterstone because you seemed to really love it, but i'm really happy you've found another kick ass venue with better people to work with! :)

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Brantford golf & country club looks beautiful - it's a shame you had a negative experience with them.
Thank you for posting the link to the Vue!

I'm so excited to plan the rest...haha finally moving on to the photographer & the decorator now [will be contacting Sara Baig soon ;) ]

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

^ yay! sara is awesomeness. also contact bf/gf (www.boyfriendgirlfriendpictures.com) for your photography if it works for your budget. give them my reference. i promise you, they're worth every penny! and oh, let me know if you want to talk stationery ;)

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

I am also looking for a venue, but for an engagement. Everything is either too big for 80 guests or too small. I really liked 259 host in downtown but the private dining facility only caters to 45 people. The owner said it I can use the main dining area too but then it would be a split level dinner. Not to sure how that would work.

The vue looks really cool! Does it include parking? or will guests have to pay for that?

Btw, I tried contacting Sara Baig too! She might be busy these days because I have yet to get my second reply:( I love her work though!

Oh and SGC, you do all the stationary? It's super cool:)!

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

^ i know she's off this weekend for Eid- you'll probably get a response next week :)

i do some of the stationery with her, yeah :D

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Oh really! I didn't know you did some of the stationary :)
I'm getting really busy with my sister's wedding - so once that's over (in 2 weeks) I will contact you both :)

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Yes, parking is included!

I'm working on a blog post about 'unique' venues in the Toronto area..will post the link here once I'm done writing that up.
You may want to contact Bob Rumball centre...I think they fit 80 people, or maybe 60? I forgot now....but it's very nice!

I just shot a wedding at The Old Mill Spa and it was beautiful. Especially from a Photographers perspective having the couple walk around the area to take some fantastic shots by the pond platform/kissing bridge/wedding garden.

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Yes, I went to the Old Mill Inn and it's very beautiful. They don't have South Asian food though and that's why we didn't end up booking with them. And do seem to have lots of weddings going on at once during the weekends. I heard though that if you don't have your wedding there, they don't let you use the grounds for photos?

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

^ its possible- esp if they're busy with lots of their own weddings. there are plenty of nice outdoor garden/park areas for pictures though.

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

Anyone have any suggestions for mehndi venues in the Mississauga / Brampton area? I'm looking for some place that's nice and also cost effective. I've noticed that some halls actually have Mehndi menus which is nice. So far I have Candles, Chandni and Sagan banquet halls. I called Sagan and they include centre peices and also a back drop for the stage in the person price for the hall. Any other suggestions? I want to stay in the Mississauga area or thereabouts. Also, is the Liuana gardens worthwhile to check out for mehndi? Thanks!

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

I think Liuna gardens for mehndi would get quite pricey.
Chandni is pretty nice - they have yummy food. They also include centrepieces in their price.
Candles is also not bad, their food is quite good. I'm not sure if they include centrepieces or not

What about Bombay Palace in Brampton? I haven't been there myself but I hear it's a decent venue

Re: (Toronto) Getting Married Next Year and So Far No Venue I Like :(

i had my wedding at Bombay Palace. They changed the front entrance of the exterior and interior..it looks waay better now.

and there is a masjid right next for those that want to pray during the wedding too. really convenient.
