Afia. Is there anyone in your or your husbands family that had any blood problems?
Thalasemia is very common in Pakistan. Wait for the results. But what i dont understand is, how can thalasemia cause iron deficiency. Iron deficiency can itself cause anemia. If someone has iron deficiency anemia, the first thing that comes to mind is, whether the person is bleeding from some where, or at this youug age, if the person is not absorbing iron well.
But thalasemia is something that can cause anemia. you can read about thalasemia, but there are different kinds in it. Some are severe and some are not. Our people usually in Pakistan have alpha thalasemia. beta is more common in medhiterranian population. Alpha chain has 4 genes, so there are 4 variants of the desease that cause different severity. Anyways what I am trying to say is that in infection, even the mild form of disease can present with severe symptoms. But we have to wait for the results. Let us know what happens.
One important thing is that you should get all the othe kids checked too. Just to be on the safe side.
As far as spinach is concerned, it does not have as much iron as most people think.

I have thalassemia minor and it’s never hindered me in any way. Like others have said, if it’s not thalassemia major, you really shouldn’t worry. InshAllah the test results will come back with good news. Don’t stress yourself out, think positive and you’re still very much the same blessed mother that you were two weeks ago, don’t let anything make you feel otherwise. 
Insha Allah she will be fine and by the blessings of Allah :swt: she will have a long and healthy life.
May Allah make her better soon inshallah!
Don’t freak out Afia. There is a trial in place for every good human being on this earth. Allah is just testing you and your family and inshallah you’ll pass with flying colors :k:
Ohh Afia! I’ll pray for your bachi inshAllah..i’ll keep her health in my duas. This must be so painful for you..i’ve never been a mother before..but still.. Meanwhile..keep strong sis..and remember Allah swt never really fails anyone, and everything that happens good or bad happens for a valid reason, and even if we don’t understand the reason, it’s Allah’s swt and it’s in our best interest.

yesterday it was really terrible for me …i don’t cry in public usually …but yesterday , all my way back home i was crying like a child
i thought i will die before friday …before even knowing the results
but well, i’m still here …a lot better than day before

Xtc , gemini the great , proud pakistaniits not yet confirmed …but our doc says if she really has it then all of us in family will go through blood tests …n i think if its inherited then its me who is the carrier …coz i’ve always been anaemic …n before her birth my blood iron level was the lowest ever (around 5-6)
Nescio i hope you r right she is not yet an year old (2 months to go) n so far she is quite ok …infact she is more active than her brothers at this age , mashaAllah
last night i told my husband n i started crying …just then he made me see soooo many other good thigs… he reminded me of many times when we lost hope but Allah miaN helped us in every way …
n he reminded me of the time when our princess was born …she is premature baby n at that time everyone was telling us that chances of her survival r not very bright …but still …Allah miaN made her recover so she will be ok just like that ,

four more days of stress
ah well i think Allah miaN gave me 4 more days to pray .....as much as i can

As the hemoglobin level you mentioned when you were pregnant, make sure you get your blood work done also. Anemia usually presents as fatigue and dizziness.

i couldn't wait any longer ...n called the doctor today ....n he says zainab is soooo anaemic that its hard to know if she has thalassemia or just severe anaemia ,....!!!
he asked me to double the dose of iron drops n come for another test in 3 weeks !!!
I know its tough...but hang in there...your little girl will be fine inshAllah.We're all praying for her.
