I didnt give Sweden’s example. What about China, most pakistanis here would side with China any given day, theres even little support for the muslim rebellion going on there.
China is probably as, or more, important a power player in south asian and east asian politics as America. Tell me why Muslims dont resent the Chinese.

Once again, theres richer and more powerful places in the world from a Muslim’s immediate frame of reference. Like I said in another thread, what a lot of americans do is contrive reasons for why they’re disliked around the world, and with so many varied reasons for each individual country/nation that at some point it just gets a little hard to imagine how they can believe those reasons.

Well, maybe my post wasn’t all about you (just like Americans are accused of thinking it’s all about them.) Why do Pakistanis support China? Because of their great treatment of their own Muslims? No, because they have a common threat and have aligned strategically. If China took the lead on the world stage as the US has done it would probably be different. It may happen as described above when they need the Arabs’ resources to survive, but for the most part have been isolationist. There is not a richer or more powerful place in the world from a Muslim’s frame of reference - the US has been deomonized as great satan for some now. US represents everthing Muslim fundos do not while they have more in common with China and other lesser powers.

As I have said, I agree that Bush has done things to warrant resentment around the globe. But overall I believe the world is a MUCH better place because of America’s foreign policies - unless you would rather be trying to moderate a forum under Soviet auspices. And I frankly don’t lose any sleep over whether we’re liked or not liked.
