Top commanders say 'enough is enough'

**Fresh operation?: Top military huddle kicks off
**
ISLAMABAD: A two-day meeting of top military commanders began here on Tuesday amid conflicting reports about a fresh offensive in North Waziristan Agency following last week’s attack on young peace activist Malala Yousafzai.

The army’s media wing said the formation commanders’ conference, headed by army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, will discuss professional matters. “It is a routine conference,” said one official in a bid to dispel the impression that the gathering was meant to discuss the likely operation in North Waziristan.

An institution which silently and patiently saw attacks on its core assets and top personnel, would come into action over attack on a schoolgirl? I don’t think so…:hmmm:

Re: Top commanders say 'enough is enough'

I agree we shouldnt be going there without any proper preparation, because that would have serious consequences and we certainly cant afford that. but if sooner or later we have to go in there, then why not now? God Forbids, are we waiting for more attacks like these?

its high time they come out with a clear strategy against these savages.

**No consensus, no war against militants: Zardari **

ISLAMABAD: We will have to fight the war against militants today or tomorrow, but we will do so with national consensus, said President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday.

Addressing the South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) conference in Islamabad, Zardari talked about the challenges his government faces with regards to military operation and other national issues.

“It’s easy to be emotional, it is easy to take a country to war, but you don’t ride a tiger until you are sure when to get off,” he said.

Emphasising the need of consensus to address problems, Zardari said that his government had guided the nation towards Swat and South Waziristan operations only because there was national agreement.

“But today, we don’t have consensus,” he said.

“We agree we need to take on this mission, but are we ready to accept a possible blowback?” the president further questioned.

After the speech at the UN, this is the second speech from Zardari which is quite sensible.

Another party head was of the same opinion a few days back but his remarks opened a new pandora’s box of opposition and shame was hurled at him from all quarters.

Re: Top commanders say 'enough is enough'

^ he can still be abused in the garb of consensus (that he doesn't allow consensus to evolve in the matter). With the elections around the corner I don't think any one would risk going for another operation at this stage.

Re: Top commanders say ‘enough is enough’

Nope not same opinion he was apologist & justifying the Taliban tactics with his twisted ideology on the other hand President is talking about willing to conduct opération if consensus can be made.

Re: Top commanders say 'enough is enough'

^ Imran Khan & his simpletons are doing e-jihad. I said countless times before Imran being popular in educated & intellectual following have more damaging power then next 4 in line mullahs. On the scale of 10 I will give Immi Bhai 5 for not letting the nation come on same page rest can be equally distributed along mullahs & apologists.

Re: Top commanders say ‘enough is enough’

^ Why not full 10? Jiyalas and Noonis can do anything these days because media are on their side.

By the way, who opposed the move to table a resolution for the NWA operation in the National Assembly?

Re: Top commanders say 'enough is enough'

bhai mere, what did PPP do after "creating" the Taliban monster?

Re: Top commanders say 'enough is enough'

Will not this operation be counter productive and increase the suicide attacks in the country by militants/taliban?

Re: Top commanders say ‘enough is enough’

Can’t give 10, I need to balance out you know

What do out expect from Mr. Bean, but Imran Khan being the most popular leader deserve more chitters. Keep it up Immi Bhai, even Zardari looks more sensible now :smack:
