Re: Top commanders say ‘enough is enough’
Some people still believe the Army cleared Swat? Most people from Swat say that it was just a drama between the two. Had Swat been bordered by another country it would have been understandable. However, Swat neither shares a border with FATA or another country. I came across a sayiing in Pakistan - wherever this is a beautiful area in Pakistan, the army wants to take over and establish a base or cantonment there. The whole Swat debacle could have been stopped. It should not have happened. There is no need to thank the Army when they allowed it to fester in the first place. When the Army is thanked the higher ups take the credit but only the lower levels deserve praise. They are the ones that sacrifice and not for the large plots and pensions.
The Army did clear Swat, but I agree with rest, they could have done it far sooner, and they helped to create the mess by not taking care of it sooner.
