Top 10 Sexiest Cars*- 2009 Detroit Auto Show - MSN Autos

Re: 10 ten sexiest cars- 2009 Detroit Auto Show

nothing compare to M5/M6

out of those cars, this is how my List would look like…

  1. Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI - German Perfection, which is the best of its sort.

  2. Fisker Karma S - God knows when it’ll come out, and when it does I’ll be the first one to buy it!, its soo bloody sexy! :hayaa:

  3. Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT-S - a Ferrari with 4 doors, the first time I drove one of these, it took me less then 10 seconds to literally fall in love with this car , and at $100k+!, I think its a bargain.

  4. Jaguar XF-R - you gotta love this one, I mean 226 mph is more then just impressive, its mind blowing!, you have to remember the fastest road going sedan/saloon available these days is the Brabus Rocket, based on the Mercedes CLS, its 6.5L V12 was a weapon of mass destruction well before they put not 1 but 2! Turbochargers, with 730 hp, it did 227 mph round the Nardo test track in Italy, so this Jaguar with 120 hp less then the Brabus Rocket and good healthy $300k cheaper then the Brabus Rocket, its … out of this World! :hayaa:

  5. Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Sterling Moss - now its not a particularly handsome looking car, I honestly believe the car that it commemorate’s, the 300SLR is miles more sexier…

the 300 SLR number 722, piloted by Sir Sterling Moss at the mille miglia.

  1. Bentley Continental GTC - I despise it, its too Paris Hilton… :chai:, but that Twin-Turbo W12 more then makes up for that.

  2. BMW Z4 - liked the old one better, will have to wait for the Coupe variant to arrive to end up with a proper conclusion.

  3. Ford Shelby GT500 - can’t even hold a candle to the original car, the 428 big block V8 monster from 1967, back in the day was the ultimate American Street Machine, the new one is pretty much a Mustang with a 5.4L (330 small block) V8.

the 1967 Shelby GT500

  1. Volkswagen BlueSport Prototype - looks promising but then the EOS did aswell, lets hope this one would be more of a drivers car, unlike the EOS, which isn’t.

  2. Dodge Circuit - I’d rather have the car that its based on, the Lotus Europa.

:bailan you're wrong!!

Since 2003, Ive been to everyone of these auto shows, except 2008 and 2009. Its amazing!

been to the L.A Autoshow twice, 2002-2003, saw the N.American launch of the Porsche Carrera GT, the Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR and the Ferrari Enzo during the 2003 event, it was magical...

what do you mean?, are you saying that the M5/M6 is far better then the McLaren SLR?

are you actually comparing it to the McClaren? :smack:

I am a huge BWM m-series fan…but McClaren can not be compared to it…it’s in a class all on it’s own!

yes technically the McLaren SLR can be compared to the BMW M6, how?, well the McLaren SLR is built from the ground up as a Grand Tourer (GT) not a hardcore supercar, thats the reason why I hate people for when they compare it with the likes of the Porsche Carrera GT (<< :jano:), the McLaren SLR and the BMW M6 are very similar in many ways, for example, the SLR and BMW M6 are huge and cumbersome cars, even though I’ve never driven one, I can tell that it takes quite a bit of effort to make the SLR go round corners, other then that, once you find out that its 5.4L Supercharged V8 is a hunkered down version of the 5.5L Supercharged V8 that is found in the SL55 AMG which by the they don’t make anymore (its been replaced by the SL63 AMG now), other then that its mere 5-speed Autobox has also been discontinued in every AMG model except this the SLR, other then that, in typical 90’s fashion its 6 disc CD changer is located in the boot (how retro is that?), its brakes, which are carbon ceramic, are horrifying, so I’ve been told and from what I’ve read, its breaks are either engaged or disengaged, there is nothing in between them, you slowly start to press on the brake paddle and half way nothing happens and suddenly bam your face comes off, clearly there is much to dislike about the SLR, most of it is to do with its hybrid birth, well you see this car was conceived in the Mercedes-Mclaren F1 partnership era, and what they had in mind was to make a Formula-1 inspired GT car, yes I am not joking here, thats what Dieter Zetsche and Ron Dennis said at the IAA back in 1999 when they unveiled the SLR vision prototype, now anyone with even the least amount car knowledge will know that the whole idea of an F1 inspired GT car is nothing but a joke or seriously speaking, an impossibility.

you might be thinking all that I’ve said up there is nothing but bull-crap and no one really cares about that, but the fact is that if you’re one of the potential buyers and are willing to shell out $525,000 for a moderately spec’d SLR, you’d want way more then just a fast car, you’d want something that has no donors, you’d want it to be exclusive, which I’m afraid the SLR isn’t, what it is, is an out dated and over priced Merc, ever wonder why most of the SLR owners are either yuppies or cocks (rappers/r’n’b’ers/hip-hoper)?, thats because they don’t know crap about the car.

you want a good GT car?, there are plenty that can put the SLR to shame, cars like the epic Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, when I saw the car for the first time on the cover of Evo, I thought it was a mess, another butt ugly Ferrari that will follow the 612 Scaglietti into a ditch but when I saw the car in person and got to experience car first hand, I was left breathless, it is just quite simply staggering, not just to look at but to drive as well, and at a base price of a little over $300k, its nearly $200k cheaper then the old rust bucket (the SLR), another GT car that I’d rather have instead of the SLR is the eccentric and beautiful bond-mobile a.k.a the Aston Martin DBS, there is absolutely nothing and I mean NOTHING wrong with it, its the most perfect example of a GT car with track credential and with a price tag of a mere $300k, its a bargain, when you come across one, you instantly know why this car has a 5 year waiting list.

P.S just an advice … type slow :).

P.S2 “can not be compared to it…it’s in a class all on it’s own!” << :rotfl:

here is a Sand-White over terracotta Porsche Carrera GT owned by a middle aged bloke who lives just 2 houses down the road to ours, this is car number 1178 out of 1270 ever built, 2004MY

and another one that I spotted the same day 1st of feb (2 days ago), Nordic Gold metallic over terracotta, car number 1064, 2004MY.

just thought I’d share it with you guys.

sorry for the bad result of the first pic, @ 7:30 in the morning it was very cloudy.

Re: Top-10 sexiest cars- 2009 Detroit Auto Show

huh.. bongi cars..

:music:

**

@Xeno bahi, :omg: that is soooo bloody old!! and yet I laughed my butt off watching it :rotfl:

what’s so funny about that :emmy:

IT IS!! just my opinion tho.

the specs and exterior looks of the McClaren can not be compared to a m5…m6 ok maybe…but def not an m5.

I stand by my words :naraz:

p.s I love the m5

:rotfl: you didn’t read my post completely, did you?.

I never said that I was comparing it to the M5, if you want to then you can go through my poster (#8), yes I agree the SLR looks very dramatic and all but there is a faster and much more powerful version of the SL that is just round the corner, the SL65 AMG Black Series.

the Fact’s:

the SLR

Displacement : 5.4L Supercharged V8 producing 627 hp.

0-62 mph : 3.7 seconds

1/4 mile pass : 11.7 seconds

top speed : 208 mph (722 edition)

Price Tag : $495,000

the SL65 Black

Displacement : 6.5L Twin-Turbo V12 producing 670 hp

0-62 : 3.5 seconds

1/4 mile pass : 11.4 seconds

top speed : 320 mph (electronically limited, up to 230 mph with out the limiter)

Price Tag : $385,000.

don’t be naraz yaar, every one has there own POV towards everything, this is my POV. :@:

SL65 AMG :hayaa:

love that car

Re: Top-10 sexiest cars- 2009 Detroit Auto Show

SL65 is hardcore with luxury wrapped all around it.

SL55 is medium range between performance and luxury.

McLaren is way out there, but may not be as practical.

Porsche GT is a supercar, not an everyday driver. Atleast not where i live. More like a weekend thing.

Oh man…I cant stop drooling.

Re: Top-10 sexiest cars- 2009 Detroit Auto Show

The dude in the 750K Euros Mercedez…:omg:.

Re: Top-10 sexiest cars- 2009 Detroit Auto Show

what is a point to have these luxury cars, when you need good empty road to drive them?
sure they are good for viewing pleasure but usability wise i dont find them any useful.

werna un ko koe karachi layari main chala ker dekhai…:snooty:

zobia i agree…you do need an open road to drive em.

thats why you take these type of cars to the race track and floor it!!

Wrong.. ladies.. !... you don't need an open road to feel the power .... !
