Re: Top 10 reasons why Muslim men dont keep beards
When you see something that is not in the Quran, and just attributed to hadeeth, then not only do you have questions about whether it is authentic, but also how important is it, because if it was so important that your faith would be incomplete without it would Allah not have noted that in Quran.
This is also not a question of rejecting hadeeth, but a question of asking whather a hadeeth has the power to make something farz, i.e. a must do something without which your faith is incomplete.
Allah says in Surah A'raf, Ayah 157
"Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write whom they find written with them in the Taurat and the Injeel, he commands them for Al-Ma'ruf; and forbids them from Al-Munkar; **he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibat, and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khaba'ith**, he releases them from their heavy burdens, and from the fetters that were upon them. So those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful"
The Messenger was given the authority to command and forbid the ummah.
And the only reason why there is no dispute about the Quran is because Uthman radiAllahuanhu burnt all unauthorized copies of the Quran.
In fact, the copies of the Quran at that time were different and this is the reason why these other copies were burnt.
Otherwise the same arguments that exist for hadith would also have applied for the Quran as well.
