Geo is no longer on test mode as they removed it from the international testing tier. I believe it can be subscribed now.

My bro already called today to subscribe and the guy said they don't have any channel called GeoTV on 620. Not yet anyway.

Read FG's post again. The channel is starting on 3/11. Check channel 580 for more details (wait 5 mins or so - since the info is on repeat)

I know it is starting on 3/11. I have seen the ad on 580 myself. My question was to Spock since he has been getting it while it was in the test mode from the begining. He said that the test mode is over and I was wondering if he still sees it listed in the Guide in red like all the other channels that are not subscribed.
Though strange but I am only telling you what the guy from Dish Netowrk said to my bro. Those guys don't know what they are talking about anyway.
The Dish Network's support folks only know whats written on their screens. One would assume that they will have this new channel miraculously appear there on 3/11, and not a day sooner.

haha good one. they were showing some crappy umar sharif movie yesterday where he was literall fighting a jinn with his mother's shoes. you can't make this stuff up people. watching umar sharif do serious acting is like watching a frog in a blender.
i'll be watching the clock and when it hits 12:01 ET i'll be calling them. this channel can't some soon enough, luckily we'll be able to get rxn to the indo-pak series from the too (unlike Prime's 2 second highlights of important matches where 1.6 seconds is the guy putting his helmet on about to face a delivery).

Asif uncle, it took them a day after it got removed from the test mode to go public, but by now you should be getting it, if not, let me know.
FG don't cancel other plans for tonight...if you have any that is. Ye GEO hei ke bakvaas? All they have been showing since I got home is the bloody news and I left for home around the same time you left. Mum was telling they only put on one show since this afternoon, other than that only news have been on. ARY has disappeared too. Quite an anticlimax!

bhai i know why that is. See it is late night in pakistan and there they show news for 4 hours when everyone is asleep. See you are watching the testing stage. They are broadcasting live from pakistan so that is why your seeing news over and over again. I called their number and they said that within a week they will reshuffle their programs in USA where you watch non news programming all day long and watch news 4 in the night to 8 in the morning.
DON'T BE DISCOURAGED. THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM WITHIN A WEEK.
i would agree with atlanta and here’s something i also said in another thread:
“dude, geo isnt just a news channel…best dramas and award winning telefilms are played on geo. along with that, concerts and other functions are shown regularly depending on the occasion. like the zee awards held in dubai were shown 2 days ago and geo was the first one to get the license to air that. unlike ptv prime, geo has more than one talk show than anyone else which are always informatively entertaining…then theres the business news reporter:mudhosh:i mean they have young and well trained staff to present the programmes unlike ptv. and as for ARY, they despite having acquired 10 channels havent made much of big impact on the pakistani media other than the fact that the ppl in pakistan get 2 watch indian songs and trailers thru ARY since the ban on indian channels has not been lifted yet.”
