Tonight is the night

Geo's shows are amazing. Only thing I don't like is their overdone and overcooked dramas. Everything else is wonderful.

FF, be sure to watch the telefilm they show at 2 pm (could be 12 pm) on Saturday. it is generally very good. Last time they showed a cute Ali Haider/Sonia Khan story. And even thought the constant news can give you a headache, the way they present news is very professional and comprehensive. Their talk shows, celebrity shows, music videos are all very, very good. They don't have quantity like ARY and Prime, but they do offer quality in every show save for their dramas, IMO.

IMO, I am very impressed with Geo’s news.
The newscasters are really good too, professional, and
Well Farah Khan, and Uzma Al-Karim aren’t bad.

Geo has some show like Antakashri, which is hosted by the host of Antakashri on Zee TV, very good political discussions. The drama’s are really good to, from what I think. Better than the cheesy PTV ones, and pretty good acting and stories.

Oh well.. ARY has the practice game on for India vs. Pak A :k:

So turns out you don't have to add anything... Geo is free - atleast for now.

What a great start. I turn on the TV as I got home and VIOLA! ...the first thing I see is "GEO Cricket"... they went in detail on the preparations at National Stadium Karachi...showed players practicing. Then 10 minutes later, the main bulletin at the top of the hour starts and guess what's the first headline?...yes...it's about the arrival of Indian team. They showed a 5 minute report on arrival and Ganguly's press conf. This is a dream come true for a cricket lover like myself.

None of the propaganda news where Jamali kissed Musharaf's ass and the crap. It was news that people want to listen. And for the first time I heard Pakistani channel news that did not talk about Kashmir. That's so refreshing.

I love GEO.

Then this morning as I was getting ready for work, they put on Aalim Online. What a beautiful program. The host seems very down to earth guy and gives the impression that he actually loves what he is doing. The two guests represented both shia and sunni point of view.

Anyway, great start. Just the overall quality and professionalism is way better than Prime.

couldn't agree more, i watched the news yesterday for a whole hour and it was so detailed. the three segments on cricket were top quality and the writing for the stories was great (like using the word "aashirwaad" tongue in cheek when talking about ganguly and vajpayee). i had to go to work so i've got the VCR rolling, my mom told me that "hum sub ummed sey hain" is top class political satire.

I am going to wait till next week before I post any more comments on the channel. I saw Aalim online too FG. But I was too busy arguing with my sister to pay attention to what the guy said. It's a good idea to bring Ahle-Sunnat and shia scholars together like that. Hopefully they will fix the timings soon.

Our local Pakistani station shows segments from'Hum sab Umeed se hein' on sunday mornings too. Pretty funny they are. Especially the Benazir impersonator.

for some reason the aalim online host seems like a bad shahrukh khan impresonator.

Thora over-zealous lag raha tha. But its better than looking at the dormant prime ptv hosts.

I watched it last night and it is an extremely professional channel. The news is actually worth watching, very thorough and logical unlike the news shown on PTV. Poor people, I hope the price of atta drops soon. (:

Anyway, what's up with the 15 minute dramas they showed this morning? They showed two of them back to back starring both Indian and Pakistani actors together. Khair, it was quite good. I can watch a mini-drama before going to work in the morning.

LOL
